Good morning, AG!

Today in Chiefs history, Jarad Allen born in 1982, Mike Pruitt 1954, Damien Williams born 1992, George Karlaftis in 2001.

Some other stuff may have happened. In 1860, The Pony Express mail delivery system, which used continuous horse-and-rider relays along a 1,800-mile (2,900-km) route between St. Joseph, Missouri, and Sacramento, California, was launched in the United States.

1882: While adjusting a picture on the wall of his home in St. Joseph, Missouri, American outlaw Jesse James was shot and killed by Robert Ford. Stay away from these cans!

1922: Joseph Stalin became secretary-general of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, a position that provided the power base for his dictatorship.

1924: American stage and motion-picture actor Marlon Brando was born in Omaha, Nebraska.

On this day in 1948, U.S. President Harry S. Truman signed into law George C. Marshall’s post-World War II plan to revive the economies of western and southern European countries so as to foster democracy in the region.

1961: American comedian and actor Eddie Murphy was born in Brooklyn, New York.

1968: At an event for the Memphis sanitation workers strike, American civil rights activist Martin Luther King, Jr., delivered his Mountaintop Speech; the following day he was assassinated.

1996: Federal agents in Montana apprehended Ted Kaczynski, an American terrorist known as the “Unabomber,” who had killed 3 persons and injured more than 20 with explosives sent through the U.S. postal system.

2016: Private papers from a Panama law firm were made public and revealed how wealthy clients concealed their wealth and avoided paying taxes; the “Panama Papers” represented one of the biggest leaks of confidential data. Couldn’t possibly be true.

The news. Yeah, the news…

2024 NFL Draft: Chiefs add OL, WR in latest 7-round mock | Chiefs Wire

Kansas City hasn’t been particularly active in free agency as general manager Brett Veach looks to build the roster for next season’s title chase. When Denver paid for invesco/sports authority/empower field at mile high it wasnt one county or city that paid for it, it was parts of 7 counties considered the “metropolitan football stadium district”. Thats what KC needs. Not just one run down county but a coordinated metropolitan wide tax. Not sure why KC insists on this approach.

I agree. No reason one county should bear the burden

Buffalo saw what the chiefs did and now mistakenly think the path to winning the SB is by not having any competent WRs

They were thinking “The Chiefs traded their best WR, and won two Super Bowls. Maybe we can do that”

So how long until Diggs starts being a problem in Texas? I’m thinking it’s a year from now unless Texas wins it all this season. He doesn’t come across as a great teammate.

Stephen A. Smith on First Take basically said to Stefon: “Don’t screw this up”

Give him the ball, he’ll be happy. Problem is, he isn’t the number one he thinks he is.

I don’t think it’s just getting him the ball, though it appears he’s headed to a more crowded receiver room in Houston than he would have had in Buffalo. I think he’s desperate for a ring AND he wants to be the clear WR1. I’m not sure how happy he’s going to be in Houston based on his history.

Most of the negative comments I’ve heard is more about funding the Royals stadium, especially since it requires tearing down some existing venues and the fact the Royals keep changing their site/plans. I don’t live in the area and haven’t really been following this so I wanted to see if this was the local buzz.

That’s the sales pitch. Look at a map and you see it is three occupied small buildings and a couple vacant ones plus a lot of parking.

There was already resistance to the project of course. But I suspect the owners of those buildings have been behind the late push to fight the ballot measure. Gives them more time to do things to crank up the price. Plus it makes it harder to apply eminent domain forced sales

… and IIRC (?) part of why Royals “changed plans” was at request of city of KC, MO

3) If you’re so fucking concerned, go join a mercenary group, since you probably can’t pass the physical this “soft generation” has to
4) REAL men worry about their own shit and don’t waste their time tearing down others to make themselves feel better.
