Good morning, AG!

Today we have no Chiefs history to report.

Some other stuff may have happened. The legendary Cleopatra VII Thea Philopator, aided by her Roman lover Julius Caesar, was reinstated as coruler of Egypt (with her brother Ptolemy XIV) this day in 47 bce following a civil war with her brother Ptolemy XIII.

1625: Upon the death of James I, Charles I ascended the throne of Great Britain and Ireland.

1814: At the Battle of Horseshoe Bend (Tohopeka, Alabama) in the Creek War, Andrew Jackson and his 3,000 troops defeated the Creek Indians, slaughtering more than 800 warriors and imprisoning 500 women and children.

1915: American domestic Mary Mallon, better known as Typhoid Mary, was placed under a quarantine on North Brother Island, New York City, that lasted until her death in 1938; a typhoid carrier, she was allegedly responsible for multiple outbreaks of typhoid fever.

1958: Nikita Khrushchev replaced Nikolay Bulganin as premier of the Soviet Union.

1963: American director and screenwriter Quentin Tarantino—whose films, including Reservoir Dogs (1992) and Pulp Fiction (1994), are noted for their stylized violence, razor-sharp dialogue, and fascination with film and pop culture—was born.

1998: The drug Viagra from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for use in treating erectile dysfunction. Rumors about Fix-a-Flat turned out to be untrue.

2002: American comedian Milton Berle—who, as a popular entertainer in the early days of television in the United States, came to be known as “Mr. Television”—died at age 93.

OK, let’s get to the speculation and guesses.

Chiefs Warned to Avoid 6-Foot-3 WR Prospect in NFL Draft | Heavy

Before the addition, it felt like 95% of mock drafts had the Chiefs selecting a wide receiver round one, if not more. Even now, pass-catcher remains a priority long-term with Brown only signing a one-year deal and KC cutting ties with Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Chiefs 5-Year Vet Not Expected to Re-Sign: ‘Hard to See a Role for Him’ | Heavy

Hardman has been a member of each of Andy Reid’s Super Bowl teams to some extent and has three rings to show for it. In fact, outside of a brief stint with the New York Jets to begin the 2023 campaign, the 26-year-old playmaker has never played for another organization since entering the league in 2019. He has appeared in 77 total games for Kansas City (including playoffs).

REPORT: Kansas City Chiefs Visiting With Potential Replacement For Star Lost In Free Agency | Gridiron Heroics

According to Tony Pauline with Sportskeeda, BYU OT Kingsley Suamataia is set to visit the Chiefs for an official 30 visit. He will also meet with the Dallas Cowboys, who lost offensive tackle Tyron Smith to the New York Jets this offseason.

Death threats, anxiety and invasion of privacy: Man sues lawmaker who wrongly named him as ‘alien’ shooter at Chiefs parade | Law & Crime

The civil complaint was filed by Denton Eugene Loudermill Jr. in the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas on Monday. Over a succinct eight pages, Loudermill alleged Burchett’s statements caused “false and defamatory representations” to be made about him on social media last month.

What does the L’Jarius Sneed trade mean for the Chiefs? | Chiefs Wire

The rise of Trent McDuffie as lockdown corner gave Kansas City’s front office some flexibility with Sneed, and may have led Veach to believe that the team’s secondary could maintain its success without adding more burden to the Chiefs’ defensive payroll.

Andy Reid is confident WR Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown’s speed will benefit Chiefs’ offense | Chiefs Wire

“I think Marquise gives you that speed element on the outside, or inside, for that matter,” Reid explained. “He’s played all the different spots. I think he’s a smart kid. He’ll complement with Rashee [Rice] and Trav [Travis Kelce] well.”

2024 NFL Draft: Full Chiefs 7-round mock after L’Jarius Sneed trade | Chiefs Wire

Without Sneed on the roster, Kansas City has a glaring need for a cornerback to start opposite Trent McDuffie in the Chiefs’ secondary. The 2024 NFL Draft class is chock-full of talented defensive backs, but with the No. 32 selection in the first round, it may be a stretch to think that Kansas City could secure one of the top cornerback prospects without a trade-up.

so, as per Adam Schefter …

should we bring Hardman back now?

Hardman might be good at that. Just need a FAST guy. If you break through the first line of defenders… goodbye!

I told you all yesterday that I was tired of hearing out the Megamillions and was going to end it by buying a ticket. I wouldn’t win, of course, but someone would and they would shut up about how big the prize was. Well, you are welcome.

So, the next time you want to try the lottery, I’ve got a compelling idea. Instead of buying tickets, you can give me the money instead, and the result will still be the same.

I would definitely be excited to get Suamataia. He is one that has been on my radar for sure.

So – I have a question for you culinary minded colonials. I’ve seen a lot of stuff about “Easter meals” over the last week or two. Is this a new thing or have I just not noticed it over the last couple of decades?
Follow-on question – has anyone got any interesting recipe ideas for Easter – preferably involving a smoker.

It usually involves ham. After than, whatever you want. At least, around these parts. And some way to get rid of 35 boiled eggs the kids found

Ham, green beans, mashed potatoes with gravy, and deviled eggs or egg salad.

Indeed it has.
When I’m dying, I’m sure someone will ask if it was a good life. I’m just going to say “I saw every play that Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce played. Yes, It was a very good life”

We are going to be getting a shinny new LT with our first pick in the Draft. Corner is not our #1 priority if it was Sneed would still be a Chief.
