Gauging the sixth-year pro’s value to the Chiefs, however, it easy to see why they signed him to a one-year deal in free agency. Their reasoning goes beyond the numbers.

Sammy Watkins Has Brutally Honest Comment On Ravens’ Offense | thespun
The Baltimore Ravens committed to upgrading their passing game this offseason, landing veteran wide receiver Sammy Watkins in free agency. ‘4th & 1’: Chiefs must continue offensive line makeover | kshb.com
https://www.kshb.com/sports/4th-1-chiefs-must-continue-offensive-line-makeover
Kansas City was good enough to win Super Bowl LIV with Eric Fisher, Stefen Wisniewski, Austin Reiter, Laurent Duverney-Tardif and Mitchell Schwartz up front, from left tackle to right tackle.
The Chiefs weren’t anywhere near good enough to defeat the Buccaneers with Mike Remmers, Nick Allegretti, Austin Reiter, Stefen Wisniewski and Andrew Wylie as the starting offensive line, from left to right.
We were ready for a change too Sammy. Good luck playing with a RB at the QB position.
I think he was really impressed with their trainer’s facilities. Their tables have more padding than KC, and they have the king size cold tubs, while the Chiefs skimped and bought the standard size.
Sammy helped us win the Super Bowl, so I love him forever. Good for him!
I appreciated Sammy’s contributions, but he let us down last season. Won’t have much love for him when we play the blackbirds.
Meh. I think Mecole let us down a lot more than Sammy.
Yes he did.
Interesting. Any KC one-year deals on this list?
Maybe Ingram, once he realizes that he’s not going to get what he wants on the market. But at this point, I think KC needs to make sure to fill their holes while not overpaying average to below average FA talent. You can overpay a Trent Williams occasionally because the production is expected to be top 5. But you can’t afford to overpay a bunch of mid-level FAs…that’s how you end up in cap hell.
This person certainly has the appropriate moniker.
If the Chiefs thought Thuney could play LT, I doubt they would have pursued Trent Williams so hard.
Peter Schrager’s mock draft has Chiefs picking LSU WR Terrace Marshall at #31. Dangit, I thought I had an under-the-radar selection of us grabbing Marshall there. Now I feel jinxed.
FWIW, I think Marshall will be a star. There are lots of guys I’d be on board with at #31, but Marshall is probably at the top of my list. I’m afraid he’ll be gone before we pick though.
He is my third favorite receiver this year. A perfect fit for our team. But if we take him, we better be trading up in the second round for a tackle.
Third favorite? You have him ahead of one of the big three then? I have Marshall and Bateman tied for my #4.
I don’t trust Smith to stay healthy at his size.
I’ve seen that argument, but my goodness he’s good.
Really want this guy in KC. He could be there late because his pro day wasn’t overly impressive. I’ve seen every game he’s played at OU and he is a legit gamer.
LOL…love the downvotes with no support for the vote. Why not?
You got a thumbs-up from me.:-)
Dang commies 😉
Prob the same person that gives every article 1 star.
Don’t watch much college but from the looks of the clips, if u can’t make the corner in college there’s no way in hell you’re making it in the nfl. We already have a slow over drafted back. Pass
Exactly where, in these clips, did you see him fail to have the burst to get through a hole and then have the agility to make guys miss…at 240+? He was already down to around 230 by his pro day. Can’t make the corner? Chiefs running Student Body Right now? Also, watch him outrun the pursuit to the edge for 50 vs Florida, who, last time I checked, had elite athletes.
Dustin Colquitt’s birthday just made me realise that since he was released before last season, I was older than every player on the roster. Now I feel old.
Damn. You too!?!
Whippersnappers, the whole lot of ya!
Let’s see, when I was born Truman was president so I guess that makes me old as well.

I’ve been there for a while now.
Yeah. I bought a Travis Kelce jersey and realized he is the first player that is younger than me I bought a jersey for.
When you start adding in coaches…
EB and I are the same age. I remember seeing him and the Buffs tearing up K-State at Manhattan in 1989. I think they hung half-a-hundred on them. I wasn’t a huge K-State fan, so it didn’t bother me nearly as much as it did the folks around me. Pretty sure they repeated it the next year when EB was a Heisman finalist.
