Matt House sticking with UK | A Sea of Blue
On Friday, it seemed highly likely that Matt House would leave the Kentucky Wildcats to join the Chiefs in the NFL ranks. However, the winds are starting to blow back in Kentucky’s favor. Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio is reporting that it is now likely that House will remain at Kentucky as the defensive coordinator.
Kentucky screwed everybody, apparently. We must now hate them now
Patriots lose defensive line coach Brendan Daly to Kansas City Chiefs | Masslive
The Patriots have lost defensive line coach Brendan Daly, according to a report from Jim McBride of the Boston Globe. Daly will reportedly take a new position with the Kansas City Chiefs and reunite with former boss Steve Spagunolo. Spagnuolo recently became the Chiefs’ new defensive coordinator, 10 years after hiring Daly to be his defensive line coach upon taking over the St. Louis Rams in 2009

After earning overall grades under 64.0 in each of the first four seasons of his NFL career, Kansas City Chiefs’ Dee Ford turned in a career-high 87.7 overall grade in 2018. He also improved his career-high pass-rush grade from 65.9 (2016) to 91.1 (2018).
Kansas City Chiefs have biggest Super Bowl window in NFL | Arrowhead Addict
The NFL.com columnist recently listed the teams with the biggest Super Bowl window in the National Football League, and Schein believes the Chiefs have it best right now for obvious reasons (that all start with Patrick Mahomes). Not only do the Chiefs have one of the best quarterbacks in the game (if not thebest) in Mahomes, a winner of the NFL’s MVP award at the age of 23, but they have him in the middle of his rookie deal. They’re paying pennies on the dollar for elite production at the single most important position in the game. It’s a general manager’s dream come true.
Why the Kansas City Chiefs should draft a quarterback soon | Arrowhead Addict
Ron Wolf, former general manager of the Green Bay Packers, was famous for wanting to pick a new quarterback every single year in the draft. You simply never know what you can uncover or what you will need at the central position in the game. Bill Belichick has embodied this same idea by drafting a new young quarterback every few seasons to sit behind Tom Brady. While Brady is the starter, Belichick is clearly not content to rely on Brady to stay healthy. He’s sunk several early round picks into players like Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett, allowing the team to feel good about any potential injury to Brady and hold valuable trade assets on the bench.
Chiefs mock draft roundup: Post-Super Bowl edition | 247 Sports
Mock draft season is in full swing now that the Super Bowl is in the rear view mirror, and this week we’ve got an interesting collection of different mock draft results for the Kansas City Chiefs. Across the board, draft analysts are projecting the Chiefs to go for defense in Round 1, but there’s a wide variety of ways they’re going about doing it. Two analysts have the Chiefs trading up in Round 1 to grab a cornerback of choice. Those who have the Chiefs staying put at 29th overall have them looking mostly for help at corner or safety with an occasional pick on the defensive line or linebacker.
Making a lot of those decisions is Dwight Tiller, who is known at One City Café as “Chef D.” He was hired to produce nutritious meals Monday through Friday for 140 to 160 people. His former job: line cook at Aramark feeding Kansas City Chiefs players and coaches at their practice facility.

AP’s House article has 5x posts. What happened? Where is everybody it’s like the quiet earth in here.
Interesting quote.
Noticed that. So, either they somehow already know Daly is going to be assistant DC, or they just don’t want to say he left their team for a lateral promotion.
Or “new position” could just be poor wording for “new job with another team,” and they have no idea what his job title will be.
They’re east coasters. Their written words tend to be deliberate.
Hunt belongs in red and gold
So long as he gets his shit together.
Great picture of Okoye and Thomas. Saw Christian at Arrowhead this season, taking a picture with a kid. Great guy.
That Alexa joke is mean :'(
How is anyone surprised that Kentucky is a bunch of douches? Calipari is the best they have to offer. #FreethisHouse
Think this will impact the NFL aspirations of anyone named Stoops?
Bob is the HC/GM of the Dallas XFL franchise. LOL
I love that decision by him, real football with relatively low stress. Great job actually.
Stoops.
Well… as a Chief and UK fan this is a little awkward… Disappointed he isnt going to be on the Chiefs staff… glad he will still be at UK… hope it isnt true that UK blocked him from going to KC.
Contracts are a two way street.
Having said that, it will definitely impact UK’s next coaching hires. Just as USC quickly discovered with KK
Yes it will… and it should.
I, of course, had to see if Alexa actually told football jokes, so I asked. “Why do the LA Rams have trouble getting dates? They’re a little sheepish”
So has NE officially disallowed Daley to take the KC gig yet?
They can’t. His contract was up so there’s nothing they can do.
Well, House’s contract was essentially up at UK and they stopped it. I know what you’re saying, just mad about the House situation.
He still had a year. They agreed to a buyout and then like a bunch of douches they completely reneged. I hope there is a LOT of consequences for this. I hope House tanks on them. I hope NFL teams refuse to draft Kentucky players. I hope that Kentucky has huge problems finding future coaches.
House won’t tank, that would be screwing over his players and fellow coaches.
It would also be screwing over the University that interfered with him seeking better opportunities and advancement of his career.
People only think like that on message boards… that is, in hypotheticals, when they don’t have to actually carry out the actions.
I guess there are a few people who’d screw over college players for petty revenge against a Stoops, but….those are pretty terrible people. If House is one of those, then I’ll be glad he didn’t come to KC.
I hope karma takes a pound of flesh out of UK’s collective ass.
Make it two.
While all the hiring is kool and ? nice. Can they help us beat Patriots? #DJ for Lbs
And Tamba for special projects. The one project is hand fighting for our youngins on the line.
Bummer on House, who is the next lb candidate?
Hopefully by this time next week, the defensive coaching staff will be in place.
I’m still waiting on news about Harris and little Reid.
I like how the Kentucky fan site wrote that article to sound like Kentucky pulled off awesome feat when really all they did was renege on their previous agreement
So it was a renege of a renege? Lol. I’m actually in favor of the coach in this situation. The Times I hate are when a coach causes trouble and then decides to leave and let the school take the punishment.
Yeah. Sounds like they are lying through their teeth about what they really did but the truth is going to get out. I’m certain that college coaches are fully aware of what really happened. It’s not going to look good for Kentucky.
welcome to the dawn…
First Mitch McConnell now this. smh
I lived in KY. Hell is nicer
I’ve driven through a lot. No thanks
My family used to watch the “Turtleman” show on TV. Interesting show, but it did not paint a flattering picture of Kentucky. Looks kinda pretty in the woods though.
Kentucky is not that bad. There are good and bad parts like anywhere. Out in the boonies is gorgeous, especially in the SE towards the Smokey Mountains. I’m not happy with their handling of the House situation, but this us like the first time their football program has ever been even close to relevant. I kinda understand the reluctance to let any of the winning pieces go away, coachwise.
Where’s all the Alliance news? ?
I had a really hard time finding scores for the games last night. Nobody seemed to think to add an “AAF” tab to their sports pages
What about Double-A spring training?
The AAF doesn’t have a scoreboard or standings on their own website. I like a lot of what the AAF is doing, but how can you miss something this basic?

Hell, I’m lookin for some Berts news.
