Good morning, AG!

Today in Chiefs history, Len Dawson was signed by the Chiefs in 1962, and fan favorite Louis Aguiar was born in 1966.

Chiefs Could Trade ‘Big-Play’ Veteran if Rookies Impress, Says Analyst | heavy

Although Edwards-Helaire, Jones, Gore, and McKinnon have the edge when it comes to making Kansas City’s 2022 regular season roster, that could change if one or more of the rookies show out this summer during training camp and the preseason.

Chiefs CB Chris Lammons could face six-game suspension | Chiefswire

But here is the burning question throughout Chiefs Kingdom: Why would K.C. bring back Lammons after this incident, while also knowing that he’s facing a suspension?

Here is how Chiefs rookie DE George Karlaftis linked up with trainer Bobby Stroupe | Chiefswire

Apparently Patrick was not the matchmaker.

Will the Kansas City Chiefs’ Play-Callers Be Under More Pressure This Season? | si.com

https://sports.yahoo.com/m/0a2b2f1c-c5c7-3c09-95c5-7cd885428066/will-the-kansas-city-chiefs’.html

Sloppiness and complacency crept their way into the Chiefs’ offense during those midway drives. It became a trend — almost like a microwaved Hot Pocket, as our own Joshua Brisco likened them to — to see the Chiefs kickstart games on a heatwave, cool throughout the middle, then regain their mojo towards the end. Given the seismic shift of this year’s receiving group (including the loss of a certain All-Pro receiver), as well as a potentially-different running back committee, one could wonder: Will there be added pressure and expectation on the play-callers to soften those blows this season?

I know play-calling will be different this year without Hill, and obviously Reid is one of the best coaches in the league’s history. With that said, if he’s as intelligent and competitive as we’ve been told, I also think it’s likely that Patrick Mahomes has more and more input into both the gameplan, both going into the games and the in-game adjustments.

As he adds years of experience, I fully expect him to turn into that Manning/Brady/Brees type of QB who can just dominate the game with his mind. Add in that he’s still got one of the strongest arms in the league and can make miracles happen when he’s outside of the pocket, and you have the makings for an unstoppable QB who should be able to make the talent around him look much better than an average QB would.

The one thing (really, it’s the only thing) I worry about with the possibility of Patrick having more input is that I want to see the running game again, not a Run/Pass Option that is a pass 99% of the time & I don’t know that I trust Patrick to do that. Furthermore, I think he’s a bit of a devil on Andy’s shoulder, egging him on to pass the ball more.

I feel that I should state that this is completely a ‘1st world problems’ situation.
The reason I want more rushing is because I think it’s what’s best for the offense. I believe that, had Andy leaned on the running game in the 2nd half of the AFCCG (where they were averaging 6.4 yards/carry), they go on to the Super Bowl.

Happy birthday, Louie Aguiar. (no “L”)

This is one of my favorite plays, ever. Comes to us from that 1997 season.

Thanks for the memory!
It was always great to recall the old days when Seattle was a divisional foe.

Yeah, a bit like I ran into a wall at full speed. Much better than yesterday, though. I can put weight on both legs now, so that’s a plus.
