Andy Reid: COVID adjustments helped Chiefs prepare for short-week ‘curveballs’ ahead of Saturday finale | nfl
https://www.nfl.com/news/andy-reid-chiefs-broncos-saturday-covid-adjustments-prepare-short-week
“I guess COVID has helped us in that area, being able to hang in the box and swing at curveballs and not bail out,” Reid said when asked if he liked the Saturday format in the final week. “So, we’re a little bit used to the sudden change. It just affects a lot of people — I’m talking about from (team president) Mark Donovan on down to all of us. Everybody’s got to move things around and organize, and we’re lucky to have a good organization with guys who like to work — you know, (general manager) Brett Veach and so on. All the heads of their department really bust their tail to make sure it goes smooth. As a head coach, I appreciate that.”
Andy Reid discusses Chiefs’ regular-season finale being flexed to Saturday | usatoday
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has the task of preparing his team for a 17th regular-season game. The first season of the new format also led to the Chiefs matchup against the Denver Broncos getting flexed to Saturday, January 8th as a part of the league’s new doubleheader.
Reid addressed the recent changes, also thoughts on playing his full roster with hopes of still clinching the top seed in the AFC and first-round bye.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes describes his biggest area of growth in 2021 | usatoday
“I think the biggest area of growth is that I’ve just learned to be patient,” He said. “I’ve learned to take what’s there, take the underneath stuff, probably the most I’ve ever thrown to the running backs and stuff like that. I have such an aggressive nature and want to push the ball down the field, but defenses have forced me to learn how to drive the length of the field and I think we’ve done a great job of that as the season’s gone on.
We can be better’: Patrick Mahomes says Chiefs still improving as they prepare for season finale, playoffs | fox4kc
“We’ve played good football these last few weeks and I still think we can be better,” Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said. “I still think we’ve played great halves or great couple quarters, but we haven’t played the great full game yet, so I think that’ll be something we continue to work on.”
Broncos fans hope Saturday’s game in Denver will resemble a KC Chiefs home game | yahoo
https://sports.yahoo.com/broncos-fans-hope-saturday-game-154702719.html
“If you have tickets to the final home game of another lost season, do not use them. Sell them to the faithful followers of the Kansas City Chiefs. Or dump them in protest in the trash. Take the tickets to the Ring of Fame Plaza at the north end of Empower Field and shred them as a sacrifice to the bust of the late, great Floyd Little to demonstrate this no-account mediocrity will no longer be tolerated.”
Chiefs designate DT Khalen Saunders, CB Chris Lammons to return from injured reserve | yahoo
https://sports.yahoo.com/chiefs-designate-dt-khalen-saunders-223559722.html
According to the NFL’s official personnel notice for Tuesday, the Chiefs have designated both DT Khalen Saunders and CB Chris Lammons to return from injured reserve. Remember, this doesn’t mean they’re returning to the 53-man roster just yet. When a team designates a player to return from injured reserve it opens a 21-day practice window where they can begin practicing with the team. If they’re not activated by the end of that 21-day window they’ll remain on injured reserve for the rest of the season.
Chiefs expect injured Orlando Brown back for Broncos game | newsobserver
https://www.newsobserver.com/sports/article257043657.html
The Kansas City Chiefs should have left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. on the field when they visit the Broncos on Saturday. Brown hurt his calf muscle during pregame warmups and missed last week’s last-second loss in Cincinnati. But he did just about everything in practice Tuesday and coach Andy Reid said he expects Brown on the field in Denver.
Chiefs DL Chris Jones can earn big incentive with sack vs. Broncos in Week 18 | usatoday
Jones has a clause in his contract that pays him a bonus of $1.25 million if he reaches ten sacks on a season. He enters the final weekend of the year sitting at nine sacks. Interestingly enough, if he reaches this goal he might want to treat new teammate Melvin Ingram to something nice. The Chiefs acquired Ingram in a trade prior to the deadline, back on November 2, 2021. Since the acquisition, which allowed Steve Spagnuolo to slide Jones back to the interior of the defensive line, Jones has tallied six total sacks.”

Chiefs RB Darrel Williams approaching career milestone in Week 18
With just 37 more yards on the ground or through the air against the Denver Broncos on Saturday, Williams will hit 1,000 yards from scrimmage for the first time in his career.
An undrafted free agent out of LSU in 2018, Williams has played behind guys like Spencer Ware, Kareem Hunt and Damien Williams
**Hard Work Beats Talent, When Talent Does Not Work Hard**
Former Chiefs defensive coordinator Greg Robinson dies at 70. Making a three-year stop in Kansas City (2001-2003) under then-head coach Dick Vermeil as the Chiefs’ defensive coordinator.
Chiefs should have won @ least ONE super bowl – under Vermeil but………..
saw that
RIP to Greg Robinson
WOW!!!
On FoxSports UNDISPUTED……..one of reason why BUCS have not officially cut A. Brown (yet) is COWBOYS or CHIEFS are/were ready to SIGN A. BROWN. (per Shannon Sharpe & Skip Bayless…….they are just repeating the rumors they’ve heard)
This says ALOT about the BOZO brothers (Robinson & Hardman)………Chiefs sign WR Gordon….tried to get JuJu Smith-Schuster in offseason & probably other WR we don’t know about
In Bozo brothers – we trust.
I’d take Harman and DRob over ABrown any day … tyvm
Do the Bucs lose in the first round or the second?
hopefully 1st round exit for bucs
Talk about being incentivized, c’mon CJ go get it!
Mornin’, guys! A happy Epiphany day to you all!
So I tried my hand at audio recording a few song parodies last night. My tech is definitely not pro quality. And while I can sing, no one will ever mistake me for a rocker. So there’s that.
