Okay, I didn’t get any solid bites on my help wanted post yesterday, just a nibble, so I’m going to do a little more marketing and up the ante…Try this one on: How would you like to have internet fame, idolized by many, signing autographs and getting selfie requests wherever you go? If this sounds like it’s for you, let us know!!! Tomorrow I may have to offer the opportunity to be an instagram influencer, whatever that is

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, 49ers WR Deebo Samuel highlight Players of the Week | nfl.com

https://www.nfl.com/news/players-of-the-week-2021-week-10-patrick-mahomes-deebo-samuel

In a 41-14 drubbing of the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday night, Mahomes had a huge outing for the Chiefs to earn AFC Offensive Player of the Week. He threw season-highs of 406 yards and five touchdowns. Mahomes completed 70% of his passes, had a 127.6 passer rating and threw no interceptions.

Josh Gordon’s Time Is Coming, Just Ask Andy Reid | si.com

https://www.si.com/nfl/chiefs/podcasts/kc-chiefs-wide-receiver-josh-gordons-time-is-coming-just-ask-head-coach-andy-reid

“So, Josh [Gordon], his time is going to come as far as the production in the pass game,” Reid said. “Right now, he’s attracting attention, which is opening up other people, which is a positive thing. His blocking has been tremendous in the run game. He plays extremely hard. He’s got himself in the last week or two here in really good football shape. He’s been out of this thing for a couple years, so that’s easier said than done and I sure like what we saw in practice last week. I just keep telling him to be patient, it’s going to happen, just keep doing what you’re doing, this thing will pop for you. So, his time will come.”

Pro Bowl voting begins! See what Chiefs are on the ballot | fox4kc

For Chiefs Kingdom, the ballot in the NFL’s website includes 28 players across offense, defense and special teams.

Patrick Mahomes asked for one play in KC Chiefs’ win vs. the Raiders. It went for a TD | yahoo

https://www.yahoo.com/news/patrick-mahomes-asked-one-play-190521805.html

“Everybody has a say on it, players included,” Reid said. “There will be times — Patrick had one last night, where one step ahead, he said, ‘Hey, if this one doesn’t work, let’s take a peak at this other one; I think it might be there.’ And we did. It was a good play, and we scored a touchdown.”

Former NFL QB Josh McCown on Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes’ early-season miscues | usatoday

“What we’ve seen, and what we see from the dude down in Tampa, that’s 44 years old (Tom Brady), is sit back there from the pocket and make throws, sit back there and make throws execute, and let the other things be icing on the cake,” McCown said. “I think coming out of the year watching Alex Smith play. He was more in that we highlighted all those other things, all the cool Patrick Mahomes things, but he was more in that vein. And as those things became more highlights, they became more kind of what he was trying to do all the time. It seems like this last week, you know, to me, they rein him back in, the footwork was tighter playing from the pocket playing on schedule, the rhythm of the passing game was tighter, and you got a better output. So I think that’s where he needs to live. You know, that’s, that’s what we’ve seen over time that is sustainable is making those from pocket, and he can do that. It’s not like a guy who needs to run around because he can’t do it. He can stand back there and like every throw in the book, and then some, so I would encourage him to continue to do that.”

Why Clyde Edwards-Helaire is Primed for Breakout Role After IR Stint | heavy

During CEH’s IR stint, offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and Patrick Mahomes shifted the mindset of the Chiefs’ offense. This involved being content with short passes, which opposing defenses were offering while they put two-high safeties in the defensive backfield to prevent deep throws from Kansas City. It took until Week 10 against the Las Vegas Raiders for the Chiefs offense to finally adhere to their new identity, but when they accepted it, they thrived.

Chiefs’ legend Curley Culp diagnosed with stage-4 cancer | upi

“To my followers, family and friends: I have stage 4 pancreatic cancer,” Culp tweeted. “Do donate to your local cancer organizations so this dreaded disease is eradicated.

Mahomes named AFC Offensive Player of the Week after getting swagger back against Raiders | fox2now

After a huge win over the Las Vegas Raiders Sunday night, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ best performance of the season earned him AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones gives scouting report on Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes | usatoday

Nobody could’ve predicted the meteoric rise of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told the media on sports radio station KRLD-FM 105.3 The Fan that he saw the signs of something special in his tape from Texas Tech. Given his comments, it’s curious that Jones didn’t make a play for Mahomes being that the Cowboys play a few hours away from Lubbock, Texas.

Though he made sure to stay away from comparing Mahomes to Dak Prescott, he said that the MVP has made good on every bit of talent he showed in his college film.

How did Chiefs get their swagger back? It’s Travis Kelce’s beard, jokes Patrick Mahomes | yahoo

https://sports.yahoo.com/did-chiefs-swagger-back-travis-181533926.html

“Yeah, he’s been here before, that’s the big thing,” Mahomes said. “He’s a leader on this team. The lights never get too bright for him. You know, Trav, he’s always ready for prime time and being able to go out and show out. And I mean, he got rolling early in the game. He was making a ton of plays. He was doing that thing where he’s catching short passes and making eight guys miss and getting more and more yards. “I told him it has to be the beard though. He brought the beard back and all of a sudden he’s Travis Kelce again.“

Why the Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive breakout against the Raiders may well persist | yahoo

https://sports.yahoo.com/why-kansas-city-chiefs-offensive-192022497.html

“People were talking about it being a single-safety middle defense, but if you really know the ins and outs of that defense, it plays a lot like two-high,” Mahomes said. “We’ve had trouble with that defense in the past. … It was different because it didn’t start off with two-high, but in a sense, that’s what they were trying to get to.”

Easy to do: a stone, some string, and an overhanging branch or shepherd’s crook. My uncle made one, always makes me chuckle when I see it.

so we got the down-vote guy trolling Larch.

Of all the guys to down-vote Larch would be the last one that I would do.

Jones batted down two passes, Reed had one sack and Nnadi (with a Gumby-like celebration) another: what does this say about the experiment of moving Jones to the outside? Okay, that was a rhetorical question. When it comes to reviewing and dissecting this season once all’s said and done this experiment with Jones will be one interesting topic. It certainly was a hot topic during the preseason and some were excited by the idea while others were skeptical. Was it a miscalculation by the coaching staff and Veach? The facts that the Chiefs let go of Ward (correct name? Tim) and Wharton and they didn’t sign Houston or Ingram is part of this discussion. And it feels like the Chiefs were lucky to grab Ingram a couple of weeks ago – this might indicate that the brass acknowledged the Jones-outside-experiment was a miscalculation. Am I reading this right? Regardless, it is always fun to review highlights of a raiders beat-down and the Chiefs interior DL played no small role in that bit of glory.

Okay, but let’s say this wasn’t a miscalculation and instead a calculated risk in the hope that Ingram or fill-in-the-blank would become available before the trade deadline. That would be a big risk to take. In either case the Chiefs are lucky to have picked him up.

I’ve always said one guy shouldn’t change the dynamic of a defense. It appears I may have been wrong.

and it use to be free agents wanted to sign with us (i.e. OBJ and others). Ingram choose to play for someone else, initially.

If we manage to turn the season around and show a lot of swagger, we’ll get some more interest.

If, at the end of the season, we are still struggling, then maybe not so much.

It also used to be that we had cap room. Ah, the good old days before signing that monstrous QB contract, and then CJ’s, Kelce’s, Frank’s, etc. etc.

So, Hoosier, what you’re saying is your job offer to Instagram means you would be leaving as the AG Morning Huddle Guy? I can understand needing or wanting to take a new position. My hope is that you could also keep on being the AG Morning Huddle Guy too! You’re great at it.

The Huddle is everyday. I don’t want to write everyday. Hoosier doesn’t want to write everyday. We just want someone that can fill in every once in awhile if need be and contribute in other Chiefs writings as well.

Hoosier and I will be around, EA and Third. Tony and BRaG, KnightWolf behind the scenes and others… it’d be nice to have about 5 more fans that could write every now and again and someone else efficient in doing the Huddle for when Hoosier wants to go more than 24 hours without logging on to AG. You know.
