Speed is the ‘easy answer’ when describing Kansas City Chiefs’ Tyreek Hill | espn
“He’s one of the best in the league at the line of scrimmage,” ESPN NFL analyst Matt Bowen said. “His lateral change of direction ability, his ability to set up a defensive back, allows him to get into the routes with more speed and to run away from coverage. He creates that instant separation and then you get into that immediate burst and then the long speed, which allows him to create explosive plays.
Chiefs make a pair of practice squad transactions on Tuesday | usatoday
Many were confused by the signing initially, especially when the team had just traded for TE Daniel Brown. Kansas City often signs players for brief periods like this when they need an extra body for the scout team offense or defense. It’s possible the Chiefs never truly had an intention of giving Griffin-Stewart a chance to stick with the team.
Small Wins Are Beginning to Stack for Chiefs’ Defense at All Levels | si.com
After back-to-back outings of holding their opponents to fewer than 20 points, things seem to be looking up for a unit that began the 2021 campaign as quite literally the worst defense of all time by some standards. Football Outsiders’ DVOA now ranks Steve Spagnuolo’s group at 28th in the league, which is multiple spots higher than where it was about a month ago. That’s a start.
The basic counting stats are also kind(er) to the Chiefs’ defense. It’s now 26th in total yards allowed per game, 21st in rushing yards allowed per game and 24th in scoring. While those numbers are far from the gospel and are undoubtedly padded by back-to-back games against questionable offensive attacks, that’s a start, too.

Patrick Mahomes Reveals The 1 Thing He’s Learned This Season | thespun
“These last few weeks have been big for me,” he said, per NFL insider Harold R. Kuntz. “… I’ve learned that we can punt the ball and back the team up and the defense is going to make stops. That’s big for me, because I want to score every drive and I still have that mindset to score TDs.”
