Just watched rugby highlights on Rees-Zammit and this guy just outruns everyone. That 4.43 speed looks fast there. I guess the question is how will that translate on an NFL field?

A lot of the opposition in those highlights aren’t especially quick.

Could double as a backup punter though.

He’s got a good kick chase. Punter/gunner combo.

I wonder how feels about this. All his teams are red and red is the historic color for Wales … hmmm

If it’s me you’re referring to then my rugby colours are either white (England) or blue (Scotland). That’s dark blue BTW. Light blue is worn by the French <spit>.
Having said that – when I was playing serious rugby in the 70s the Welsh team was one of the 2 best in the world and those players were incredible. It’s always tempting to wonder how well they would play in the modern game. Maybe if they had the same support in terms of nutrition and medical advice they would be just as great but if you look at the film from the time – they would get stomped hard by a modern team.

I think you can say much the same about all sports. The elite competitors today are mainly benefiting from extensive nutrition and medical advice as well as lifestyle and training improvements that are worlds away from what existed in the 60s. Even if they were playing in the older conditions they are generally bigger, stronger, faster and have greater endurance. Even with the conditions I think they would hammer any team from 50 years ago. <deity> that makes me feel old.

69 Chiefs vs 23 Chiefs would be a massacre.

23 Chiefs by 50+

More startling – #87 is bigger than the average OL from back then. I mean he trucks DBs now – he’d barely notice the smaller ones they had.

Willie Lanier vs Travis Kelce … wouldn’t THAT be a sight to behold

Kelce is insanely faster, but if Lanier hit him … hoo boy

‘ 49ers DB coach Daniel Bullocks’ dedication. “By the time the game was over, he could barely walk,” Kyle Shanahan said about Bullocks, who tore his Achilles during the Super Bowl celebrating an interception.

Bullocks remained on the sidelines and was one of two 49ers members who tore an achilles jumping that game. Time for a no-jumping rule on the sidelines. Player/staff safety.’ – Jacob Robinson of the Athletic
