For instance, Isiah Pacheco was paid just $54,722 per game in 2023, so playing in the Super Bowl nearly tripled his base salary for one game. Pacheco certainly earned his Super Bowl money during a game where he had 24 touches for 92 yards.

The Clutch Points analyst also called Toney “the primary scapegoat for the Chiefs’ offensive struggles this season,” concluding that “this move is for the best” despite the dead cap charge of approximately $2.53 million that KC would incur if they were to release the failed WR experiment before the end of his rookie contract.

Taking down Christmas tree today. Always leave it up till the Chiefs are done playing. It’s been worth the wait for the last few years.

So the ads in the Huddle are only there the first time you open it? Small win, I guess
Anyway, looks like Jimmy G did the faiders a solid by getting popped for PEDs

“This suspension is notable because it should void the $11.25 million salary guarantee that Garoppolo has for 2024 which makes things far easier for the Raiders to release Garoppolo,” Fitzgerald wrote. “This will bring his dead money figure down from $28.4 million to $17.1 million and also avoid having to make any cash payments following his release. Garoppolo has a roster bonus due on the 5th day of the league year so his release would be processed before that.””

So … In a Choice between Keeping Sneed or Jones :
Both are “Key” to unlocking certain aspects of Spag’s D …
Both are Sure Tacklers & Tops @ their Respective Positions …
Both effect Both the Pass & Run Games …
Both are Hard to Replace w/ Rookies or Cheaper FA’s …
Both are relatively Young for their Positions & Durable Injury-wise …
Both Have Depth Behind Them …
CJ95 plays in a More Expensive ” Ballpark ” ( $ 30 M ), but , It can be argued , harder to hit on elite player …

both are damn expensive too!

now that I think about it, both also have had dumb penalties that kept the D from getting off the field too.

CJ be like almost 30 which is getting up there for a DT … then too, he doesn’t play every snap, that means he can play more years BUT for how long AND for how much? the question would be at what point in a year or two or three does his contract become more than his on field value?

Sneed is insanely good, not sure I like his seemingly self centered “Pay Me! Pay Me! Pay Me!” attitude … everyone knows he’s gonna get paid, no need to shout it out

the two of them would cost about $45-$50M / year total … that’s a huge amount of cap space … maybe better spent on 4 different players (?)

I really think you are making WAY more of his interview than is warranted.
He was aske a leading question that everyone knew the answer to. He answered in a light-hearted, joking manner with a smile on his face, and the interviewer joining in the laughter. “Seemingly self-centered”? Only seems that way to you. It seemed exactly the response I’d expect. Maybe he was saying Please offer me something fair that I can take so I can stay here”. In which case, “Pay me” was a much better way to get the message across without making Veach seem like the bad guy.

one thing about Sneed is that he has a longer “shelf life” than CJ95 …

5 solid years left one might imagine

ah well, guess we’ll have to see what BV, Reid, Spags and the rest of their crew decide

I was listening to Geoff Schwartz this morning on talk radio and they were talking about holding in the super bowl.. The facts are that there were 7 holding penalties in the last 6 super bowls, and 3 of them were on us vs tampa bay.

We got called for everything vs Tampa. One of the worst called games in a long time.

True, so it was all back-ups doing anything they could, but the calls were so lopsided until halftime, and by then it was too late

Won’t be divisional.
Won’t be Bengals or Ravens.
Texans, maybe, but since they won their division, my guess is they are later in the year
Non-conference again is likely.
Saints are a mess.
Bucs it is.

CRAZY TALK FOR NOW…BUT……..

Maybe just maybe Tyreek Hill comes back to Chiefs for 2025 season 🤔

After 2024 season Dolphins can release Hill & save cap $$$

2025 will be Travis Kelce final year of his contract. Both the band back together like David Lee Roth w/VAN HALEN

Saving money is a relative term. His cap hit the next year is 31+ mill dollars. In 2025 his cap hit is 34+ mill dollars. His dead cap that year is 22.5mil (!!!!). So yeah they could save 12 mill. But 22.5 in dead cap ouch.

His 2026 is a throw away year. 56 million dollar cap hit. Thats not a typo. With still a pretty hefty 11+ mill dollar cap hit. But 45 mill in savings so..
