Morning Huddle – The Chiefs Would Have Won That Game

Chiefs ban fan who pointed laser at Tom Brady, per report | USA Today
The Kansas City Chiefs have identified and banned the fan who pointed a laser at New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in late January’s AFC Championship Game, according to ESPN.
Kansas City Chiefs: The ugly situation with Eric Berry | KC Kingdom
What has become so frustrating is that the Chiefs allowed Berry to dictate how his 2018 season was going to play out when he clearly needed to clean up the heel with surgery. The Chiefs were the number one seed in the AFC basically without him at all this season and he should’ve been placed on injured reserve and had the operation done.
If there is a scenario where Berry isn’t fully ready for the start of the 2019 season, I can almost guarantee the fan base will be ready to be done with him.
Tony Gonzalez downplays his Chiefs run, says Falcons made his career | USA Today
“You know what … Falcons, honestly, they made my career to come here. It really did. Nothing against Kansas City. I was there 12 years. But only three playoff games. But when I got to Atlanta, it was like all of the sudden you’re part of this winning organization. We’re on TV every week now, doing Monday Night Football, Sunday Night Football games. I love it here. I love being back here.”
Rematches of Rams-Saints, Patriots-Chiefs among contenders for 2019 season opener | ESPN
If the Rams win the Super Bowl, they could host the Saints in the 2019 Kickoff game, a league source told ESPN. And if the Patriots win on Sunday, they could host the Chiefs in the opener, according to the source.
Why so GD angry Aly? Oh, right your team just lost in the Super Bowl and your website is failing since you and SoyBoi took over
Where to start with this Donks fan?
Naw…this is how you troll.
LMAO
I guess we have been running cover 0 all season. Damn you Sutton!
LOL!
The real travesty is that Ryan Allen didn’t receive the Super Bowl MVP in such a horrible, low scoring game. Edelman can go open mouth kiss his QB.
I thought Edelman was appropriate. Nothing Boston loves more than a cheater.
How are you always grumpy about literally everything and then somehow manage relate it to Asian girls?
BAAHHHHH!!!
Ratings are out: Worst in 10 years.
Well, they earned it.
Well maybe the NFL will stop pushing LA then. Viewership in LA was lower than the national average. Embarassing.
They will never stop. May as well get used to it.
I knew it. Pretty much exactly my guess
I move that we no longer refer to tg by name, but by uncapitalized initials only, similar to to how we refer to a certain kicker who shall not be named.
The kicker has been relieved of curse, courtesy of one Adam Vinatari.
I said, “similar.” I meant it as a subtle, polite slight. Like when someone says, “Bless your heart”, but they really mean, “Fuck you.”
It’s similar to how I never capitalize the names of our AFCW rivals, refer to the donkeys’ home as enver, or mention the name of the city the rams left STL for in the context of football. It’d be a more effective return slight if it caught on fan base-wide.
I don’t really give a shit what we do, as long as people quit calling him just “tony” when attacking him on twitter.
Its very confusing for me.
fucking tony
Lets just call a spade a spade. Tony is the same dude he’s always been. A me-first California pretty boy. Always has been. He’s always been wanting to get in front of the camera. Gonzalez holding on a scoring play in the RZ so he could get a TD catch has been a running joke I used to have with my dad. Honestly, if he would just be true to himself instead of BSing everyone it would be better. Hell, the man doesn’t even like BBQ. He’s a vegetarian* for God’s sake!
*nothing inherently wrong with vegetarians, BTW.
With that said, I get what he’s saying. He had 1 losing season of Marty, 2 ~.500 with Gunther, 5 up-and-down seasons with Vermeil, and 3 shit-tastic seasons with Herm. All the while sparing with renown a-hole Carl Peterson. Scott Pioli rolls into town with his no-candy-wrapper-nonsense and hardass wannabe Todd Haley with talks of rebuilding. Screw that. He wants to go chase a ring, fine. 4 straight winning seasons until his last, he had his shot and muffed it.
3 playoff appearances with both the Chiefs and Falcons. Only 1 postseason victory to show for it. But hey, he got an upgrade to the bright lights of Atlanta instead of “backwoods” KC. Matt Ryan was infinitely more fun to catch passes from than Tyler Thigpen (even though Trent Green was his primary QB in KC).
I get it, but stop trolling the fans you douche. They love/loved you FAR more than Atlanta fans ever would. He was just a hired gun in the twilight of his career for a city that doesn’t give a damn about the NFL (CFB in Georgia). Talk all the shit on King Carl/coaches all you like. But NFL interviewing 101: say nice things about fans and Lamar Hunt. It’s not rocket science.
So does Clark quietly remove tg’s name from the Ring of Honor or does the team do it in a ceremony the next time the Falcons come to Arrowhead?
(I posted this earlier in this thread but it seems to have disappeared.)
Move it to prime bird shit real estate and never clean it. We can all nod in approval.
The piss trough?
I would approve replacing the little ‘aim here’ bumblebees with a ‘tg88’ logo in most KC public urinals.
It did?
Did you happen to log in on a different device? Try refreshing the page.
Nope. I’m pretty much exclusively a mobile user. It’s happened a couple times and it’s usually when it takes a couple extra seconds to post. It’ll post, then it disappears on a subsequent refresh.
I still see it, FWIW.
I interpret Tony Gonzalez statement that he was on a winning team and in prime time ganes every week with Atlanta, that helped him get his job now.
As far as playing with a winning culture with Atlanta, that might be a shot at Carl Peterson.
The rumor has it, that Tony was going to retire if he didn’t get traded. Tony did leave K.C. because we weren’t winning,, and Carl Paterson was the GM.
I don’t have enough facts to quit being a Tony Gonzalez fan.
Lets not act like he didn’t have his fair share of winning seasons in KC…
But the NFL had always catered to bigger markets, and he specifically mentioned prime time games. I can see how consistently being on a winning team and playing in more prime time games would be more fun to a competitive guy.
I think it would be more understandable if he’d actually won something in Atlanta. But he didn’t win shit there either.
Doesn’t mean that he still didn’t have more fun there. To me that’s what it sounds like he’s saying.
With that, I’m not saying don’t be upset. It hurts that he doesn’t like us the same way. I’m just saying I understand his view.
I supported Tony after he left. I understood, I really did. I got not wanting to play the end if his career during a rebuild with SP and TH. I don’t care if he disses Clark and Peterson. But his recent comments and attitude have been a direct insult to Chiefs fans. Let me post a picture of the one time in my career I hurt the fans the most. Then while I’m at the event I’ll send ATL fans a heart felt message about how they are my favorite. Then he gets home checks Twitter. Sees the backlash then posts a reply to KC from his hotel room. Yeah…. No thanks
What do you expect from a guy who doesn’t eat meat?
Hey Tony Gonzalez fuck off. Maybe if there were players at that point in time that could have made Kansas City a winning organization you wouldn’t have had to never win a playoff game here basically you went to Atlanta because you needed a team to drag your ass to the playoffs.
The Super Bowl really needed the Chiefs, it seems almost every Chiefs game was epic, not counting the bottom feeders.
When Tom Brady couldn’t step into a throw, his arm looked like Peyton Manning’s in his last year with the Broncos. Last night game made me appreciate Mahomes and how far he can throw a ball with just his arm.
Should tg’s name be quietly removed from the Ring of Honor or should the team have a removal ceremony next time the Falcons come to town?
Discuss.
Someone start the petition
I like Plan B.
Now…what were you saying?
Weird, it’s back.
Anyways, let’s sprinkle bird seed on it so they’ll shit all over it. Don’t clean it. Next time the Falcons come to town, Clark invites tg to midfield for a special announcement, but doesn’t tell him what. Maybe he thinks they are retiring his number? Play a bunch of clips and show screenshots of his FU’s to Chiefs fans on the new big screen. Then announce tg is being expelled from the ROH & Arrowhead. Red Coaters pry off the letters off with crowbars. Clark spits on tg’s shoes. Security tosses tg out United Airlines-style. KC routs Atlanta.
Tony G’s apology if anyone is interested
Get hype y’all.
I bet they’re going to show us how to make something vegan. Trust me, I am good at predoctimg things.
Also, the sun will come up today. You’re welcome.
a “how much can you eat in an hour” contest
can we turn this into a Meat Madness? 32 meats a playoff bracket to decide which meat truly is the best, maybe run a promo on Twitter announcing this BIG event coming to the site? Plus it would be fun to shit on Mr Weeney and his “big event” with the one thing he hates most
Thats a lotta meats man…who’s funding this damn thing? LOL.
New article up with the video, btw.
Do the same thing PeeWee is doing, but start it on the 15th of this month.
Now to go proof read all the articles I was working on while half asleep trying to watch the Stupid Bowl…
What a waste of 4 hours.
Me? Pretty much….
Thinking he probably meant the Stupid Bowl.
Twas the joke.
I had to listen to it on my phone and I missed a couple of quarters while going through something called Iowa. Apparently they don’t use cell phones there.
I wouldn’t say you missed it…
Probably for the best, wouldn’t want you falling asleep at the wheel.
Goff was exposed last night. Bad decision making, run game wasn’t working, his arm looked about as strong as old man Brady’s on the other side. Two system qbs going at it. At the end of the day the veteran coach won. The chiefs better have all the chips in on defense this offseason, no way pat can’t win a ring based on how that game looked last night.
I’m honestly shocked that they have the odds for the Rams winning the SB next year that high after the turdshow they put on yesterday. I wonder if their offense doesn’t take a huge step back next year. Belichick gathered up all the game tape on how to stifle Goff, and it became very apparent he doesn’t have the skills to diagnose a defense after the snap.
Teams have the blueprint on him now.
Aren’t they in cap hell next season too? Pretty sure Suh is gone.
Quarters defense seems to be the solution to Goff. The Gurley vanishing act is what has me scratching my head
I think Gurley is a rhythm runner (a lot of them are) and CJ messed with his mojo
He was hurt. He sat out the NFCCG. It’s the only explanation.
He looked pretty good yesterday. But if he was hurt, they should be docked a draft pick or fined (or both) for lying on the injury report.
I think the longer Brady plays the more it will become clear that Belicheck is the reason that team wins so often. Brady is incredibly efficient but I see them doing the same thing with any slightly above-average QB.
I noticed vs KC and LAR that Brady is almost perfect when completely clean. When he thinks he has pressure, he will put it in the ground. That NE OL really played well down the stretch. They should get as much credit as any other member of that team.
Brady tends to keep them in the game until the NE defense wears the other team out.
Brady can’t do much physically anymore, but he reads defenses really well…unlike his opponent last night
Alex Smith wins that SB tbh. Belicheck is really good at what he does.
So Aly Trost just watched her first ever NFL game.
Wonder if her Sweet Peeny was involved, or if it’s some kind of tease and denial form of domination.
You mean “you have to leave your Sweet Peeny in the locker if you want to play”?
Some sweet peeney logic here
I almost posted that exact tweet yesterday because of how incredibly stupid it was, but Tony told me not to lol.
Yeah, that’s just like Tony, that click-hoarding attention-slut. If it’s cool and he can’t claqim credit for it…
Ok, I’m kidding – or am I? Mwahaha!
Nah, if we’re going to include tweets I want them to be informing, humorous, or flame worthy.
I was just too dumbfounded by that tweet’s ignorance to see where it fit in.
By Pol Pete’s logic, doesn’t that mean that any guy drafted was passed on by all the teams? I mean they had the chance to trade up for the guy and didn’t, right?
Right…I guess…maybe…I don’t even know what to make of it.
While we’re on the topic, did you realize that 30 MLB teams also passed on Patrick Mahomes at QB?
NBA and NHL as well. What were they all thinking?
That would mean the Chiefs passed on him nine times
Every team did now that you mention it…
Stupid fuckers! #FireDorsey
Not logic, really. More a lack of mathematical ability. Which may or may not have anything to do with confusing inches and centimeters and the ability to count beyond four might or might not related his own perception of what he’s packin’.
Or lack thereof.
I had to look at that thing like seven times to try and math it out. Pol Pete is a douche canoe.
Is this real? Good lord that is fantastic!
If you are going to count draft day trading ability….isn’t every player passed-on by 31 teams?
Yes. 31 GM’s should have been fired for passing on Payton Manning.
I don’t know, I don’t have what it taqkes to visualize things going that far.
I’ll leave that to specialists such as yourself.
Imagine a scalpel.
You sicko.
Keep up the good work.
Yeah. I realize she was still in junior high for the Talib/Crabtree thing but she needs to move beyond the the whole ‘being angry makes me cool’ high school mentality
That’s the impression I got as well. Longtime fan, clearly.
I mean, even Aqib Talib wasn’t mad enough to snatch no chain off. Seems she took it awful personal…
Did I miss something here?
You even read the articles yo?
Lol I completely missed her tweet. As I was scrolling down, I got distracted by that fabulous suit.
I hate to say it, but I kind of agree with her. Not that they shouldn’t be allowed, but why would you want to wear an expensive piece of jewelry while playing a professional football game?
As fucked up as the world is with endorsement deals, I wouldn’t be surprised if some jewelry store paid for them to wear them…
OMG! Look at Todd Gurley’s arm band, so ugly!
That’s the kind of crap you take from this game? Can’t wait for more analysis from her…
Is anybody really surprised by what happened? Hell, I KNEW what would happen and I didn’t even have to watch. I said the Pats would win. The NFL product has become stale and predictable.
One of the problems with treating this outcome as the product of a hypothetical conspiracy is that if the Chiefs nab the Lombardi next year, you have opened the door for others to claim that the NFL wanted that result, as well. If the entire thing is rigged, why even bother hoping for our team’s success, unless some scripted, fictional drama’s an appeal?
I don’t do WWE, and if the NFL is the same thing, why should I bother?
Besides, making that sort of conspiracy work would take more competence to less effect than it would have taken to simply manage the league competently. And if the slightest hint of proof surfaces, the league’s done. They aren’t up to a cover-up level, as that would again required more competence than simply doing things well.
I’m not saying it was a conspiracy or a planned outcome even. I’m just saying I already knew what the result was going to be before it ever happened. It’s the same old shit all the time. People are sick of the Patriots and sick of seeing them in the Superbowl and even more sick of seeing them win it. The only ones who are happy now and enjoying this are New England fans. It’s old and stale.
Begrudging respect to Belichek. Give him two weeks and he will find a way to completely take you out of your game
I won’t disagree with “old and stale”, but to me, there’s a big difference between “I expected it would happen” and “I KNEW it would happen”, to slightly paraphrase. I’m more literal than the av-er-age bear, Boo-boo. TTBOMK, it’s an unchangeable fact, though I compensate for it as best I can.
That shit was rigged. Come on! Don’t be blind. For brady to win yet again to cement his legacy. Against the team he started his legacy. To defeat the chiefs the new face. It was all brady and belichik.
The only thing that makes me smile is the nfl got what it reaped. A shitty superbowl where neither team deserved to be there. The amount of terrible play spoke volumes. New England’s d isnt that good.
Those ends made KC OTs look bad and Goff’s terrible athleticism helped make the LAR OTs look worse.
NE has a lot of talent on Defense, regardless of how many people talk about how BB always has great defenses with no name players.
They have talented guys that are willing to sacrifice individual accomplishment for team victory….guys that are supposed to take on double team, take on double team….guys that are supposed to occupy blocker(s) don’t try to sneak by for impact play ……and then guys execute when # is called……they may not like Belicheat, but he gets his players to follow his game plan without hint of ad-libbing for personal glory
What were the ratings? They had to suck.
I think this will probably be the worst rated Superbowl in some time. They haven’t released the ratings. I wonder what they are hiding?
They have to pay to have the info doctored. Can’t have the NFL looking bad.
