Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes No. 1 in Touchdown Wire’s QB rankings for 2022 | chiefswire

Doug Farrar and Mark Schofield just so happened to save the best for last, revealing their rankings of the 12 best quarterbacks in the league. Where did Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes land in their rankings? Exactly where you’d expect if you’re a fan of the Chiefs — the No. 1 spot. He ousted 2022 league MVP Aaron Rodgers and every other quarterback in the AFC West (yes, they all made the ranking list).

Chiefs HC Andy Reid provides injury updates ahead of training camp | usatoday

With the offseason now in the rearview and football season rapidly approaching, Chiefs HC Andy Reid provided some early updates on injured players. There are a few injuries that we knew about, but he confirmed one injury to a rookie that is both new and old.

“Rashad Fenton had shoulder surgery,” Reid began. “Lucas Niang had knee surgery. These guys will be up here, but they won’t be practicing. Justyn Ross had foot surgery. He won’t be will be practicing either.”

Darian Kinnard dyes hair Chiefs red for training camp | chiefswire

One particular rookie arrived sporting new hair stylings. Chiefs fifth-round draft pick Darian Kinnard previously had blue hair, representing his college at the University of Kentucky. Now, Kinnard has a new color in his hair to represent his NFL team. Yes, he dyed his hair Chiefs red.

“Oh, yeah, I was going to,” Kinnard told reporters at rookie minicamp. “That’s the gameplan. Right now, I’m just getting through minicamp. My biggest focus is just getting better at my position. (My hair) will turn red eventually. Just know that.”

Mecole Hardman anticipates Chiefs offense will remain explosive in 2022 | chiefswire

“Definitely, opportunity, for sure,” Hardman said. “A guy like Tyreek (Hill) with a lot of targets, I think it’s a lot of targets to go around. Obviously, we’ve got a good group of guys, receivers-wise. So, it’s definitely going to be a good year to come up a little bit and just have fun with it and just take advantage of the opportunity.”

Examining Chiefs’ 2022 Rookie of the Year odds | usatoday

Since the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year award was established in 1967, the Chiefs have tied for the most winners (4) among NFL teams with the San Francisco 49ers. Their most recent win was CB Marcus Peters back in 2015 when he led the league in interceptions (8), interceptions returned for TDs (2) and passes defended (26). They’ve also had other franchise greats like Derrick Thomas, Bill Maas and Dale Carter who have earned the award.

Chiefs announce ‘The Franchise’ documentary series will return for 2022 | usatoday

The original series chronicled the Super Bowl-winning season with a behind-the-scenes lens like no other. It provided insight into every aspect of the Chiefs’ franchise, giving fans an in-depth look at the draft process, training camp, coaching, the business of the NFL, the grind of the regular season and the playoffs.

Pre-training camp 53-man roster projection for Chiefs | chiefswire

This team is highly competitive at a number of different positions, but they’re also lacking competition and depth in others. A few spots on the 53-man roster are still up for grabs. Those who perform during training camp will have the best chance to make the team and carry that momentum into the regular season.

I hope he means that. I’d be disappointed if $500M wasn’t enough. Spread the wealth, build the team.

Good question.
Answer: About $7M (I’d do them for a third of that)

Matt Derrick
@mattderrick

First practice of Chiefs training camp in St. Joseph has come to a close this morning. Temperature in the 80s, a warm welcome for the rookies, QBs and players returning from injuries.

Hey guys –

I’m going to be gone all next week. Want to keep up with Chiefs news but I’m going to be quite occupied. That means I may not get a poem up next week. We’ll see how today goes. If inspiration strikes. Right now, the only material I have is that we’re hyped for training camp, but that’s not much to go on.

If you find time maybe you could simply roast our divisional rivals, set -of course – to the following song..,

So: that Red Sox comeback failed to materialize, 5-28 the final score against the Jays, don’t think I have ever seen a baseball score like that.

I should remember that, I was living near TO, but I was still pining for the Expos. And 16 yo seems like ancient times and distant music now.

BTW, if it makes you feel better, the “Expos” suck again. As in Royals-level suck. Nobody here mentions them

It bears repeating: thanks to Rip, and to Nova, Snafu and Pompano, the Morning Huddle is in good hands.
Have a good weekend AG.
