Good morning, AG!
Today in Chiefs’ history, In 1997, for reasons I am still not totally clear on, the Chiefs signed Elvis Grbac to be their QBOTF. That went well. Also, Jerome Woods was born in 1973. That went much better for us
Elsewhere, in 1992, nearly 69 percent of white South African voters backed F.W. de Klerk’s reformsโwhich included the repeal of racially discriminatory lawsโand effectively endorsed the dismantling of apartheid.
1919: Nat King Cole was born
1905: Eleanor Roosevelt, niece of President Theodore Roosevelt, married her distant cousin Franklin D. Roosevelt, later U.S. president
1902: Golfer Bobby Jones, the first player to achieve a Grand Slam, was born.
461 AD: St. Patrick, patron saint of Ireland, died this day, according to legend. However, since 2018, this day has been one to celebrate our own St Patrick
Let’s start today’s news with something lighter…
โSNLโ hosts for Season 48, ranked worst to best: Where do Jenna Ortega and Travis Kelce place? | Yahoo

Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce from the Kansas City Chiefs hosted โSaturday Night Liveโ on March 4, 2023 with musical guest Kelsea Ballerini. Any doubts viewers may have had about an athlete hosting the show immediately dissipated when he stepped out for his monologue and proved to be equal parts emotional, hilarious and humble.
The Chiefs are letting several starters leave in free agency. Hereโs their reasoning | KCStar via Yahoo

In a moment to himself after Super Bowl LVII, Frank Clark sat on the Chiefsโ bench, unwrapping the protective gear that covered an injured elbow. The tears came quickly. On the other end of the same bench, his teammate Khalen Saunders also sat all alone, staring at nothing in particular, quietly taking in the celebration unfolding on the field front of him. In the middle of that field, Juan Thornhill threw two arms skyward, letting red, white and gold confetti fall into his face. And in retrospect now, you canโt help but wonder if each of them knew: This was the last stop in a farewell tour.

Inside Patrick and Brother Jackson Mahomes’ Relationship | Newsweek
He admitted that having Patrick as his brother, who by then was a big star in the NFL, has helped him on social media. Earlier this year, he said: “Do I use him for clout? Noโฆ. I mean I don’t necessarily use him for clout, but there are a lot of advantages and I get a lot of opportunities by being his brother, so that’s pretty cool.”

Good reasoning on what Veach is doing
This was interesting: “It was a year ago that they initially presented Brown with a long-term proposal, and even after he helped shut out the leagueโs best defensive line in the Super Bowl, they informed him their proposal would remain unaltered this March.”
This would mean that he was offered the SAME BETTER CONTRACT he turned down last year, but choose to move on. Now, did the Chiefs pull it when they signed Taylor? Probably, but the point is he wasn’t low-balled.
It’s a big if, but if Taylor can provide similar pressure numbers as LT that he did as RT, he’s a great value in terms of his 2023 cap number ($5.8m), and still an above-average value based on his 2024 cap number ($24.7m).
OBJ was the worst value in the league last year based on per-snap pressure numbers compared to his cap hit, but even if he’s not any better the next couple of years, he’s still providing average (or very slightly below average) value to Cincinnati based on cap hits of $10.3m (2023) and $16.4m (2024). His only year above $20m would be the last year of the deal, 2026, where he’s at $22m, and the Bengals would only have a little under $8m in dead cap if they moved on from him in 2026.
Guaranteed money being the same? Yes, he was lowballed and he did better from deal with Cincy
Not all about guarteened money.
His cincy deal was not better.
According to Twitter we landed Drue Tranquil. Iโll take it since he seems to be the closest to figuring Mahomes out on his scramble / sidearm throws

Introduced my sons to PFFโs mock draft simulator this morning. My oldest didnโt like how his picks were going โฆ and then he discovered he can โforceโ trades.
The Bears now have Patrick Mahomes and TJ Watt.
โThis is so easy,โ he just told me in the kitchen.
with #15 seed Princeton knocking off #2 seed Arizona, there are now almost no “perfect brackets” left in this year’s March Madness (about 1/2 of 1/10th of 1% overall)
Furman (who?) shocked Virginia as well.
right?
Through the first 16 games Thursday, just 62 of NCAA.com brackets remained perfect. In the latest update on ESPN.com, only 658 perfect brackets remain out of more than 20 million entries.
the numbers are staggering, to be honest … gotta love March Madness
You don’t know the Paladins?
I do now, but Furman was a school I hadn’t heard of until yesterday.
Again, Skroodayooo!!!!!

Way to go nick.

Champs!!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day
I have this weird calm feeling this off-season. I just have not gotten too nervous about any players we lost so far. Thatโs not something Iโm used to. Iโm bummed about some of the players in that I liked them but not worried about the team losing them. Anyone else feeling this? Itโs weird.
I am, however, very excited about Onenihu and Taylor!. They seem like good fits. Although Iโm completely fine letting Beach go into the draft with the current roster, I would be thrilled to see another WR and/ or DE on the mix.
The unfortunate part of being in a dynasty is that more players are going to price themselves out of KC because we already got them a ring or rings. Oh well, Veach is proving himself over and over in my book!
Nice article the other day( fan post ) thx..
Thanks rip! I appreciate that! Just some thoughts I had and wanted to see how everyone else felt about our dynasty.
Happy st Patrick day!!
