Lots of short passes from the #Chiefs in practice. Screens, slants, curls. Back to basics. #ChiefsCamp
The defense looked to play some hybrid odd fronts a few times. Nothing out of the ordinary, but it will be different than what we have seen the past few seasons. This is a young group with speed + physicality in the secondary and LB core. Can't wait to see what Dunlap adds.
One thing I noticed toward the end of the practice was that the team attempted very few deep balls or even deep patterns. Everything was shallow and underneath, with lots of slants, outs, and some drag routes. Designed short passes on and around the line of scrimmage.
This team could use it's LT back and even Lucas Niang to get healthy, sooner than later.
Nick Allegretti had a solid day with the two's as did Austin Reiter.

Fun player to watch, he should help a pass rush that badly needed it.

Brown will play this year on the FT and be tagged again next year. They may work something out next year or they might just tag and trade him. Either way, I’m good with it. I’m almost glad he didn’t take the deal because if he had played the entirety of the contract he would have been overpaid.

please please PLEASE don’t “overpay” Orlando Brown, Jr … the NFL is already one of the biggest reasons for America’s economic inflation (in general) and (IMO) it’s ridiculous seeing some of these guys make 10, 20, 30 million/yr for “playing a game” … sure, I know it’s a “business” but I also know the business is “entertainment” and even though I’ve no money to spend on such things (games? not a chance, jerseys? ha! cheap bumper stickers MAYBE) the continuing upward-spiraling of contracts means more inflation for everyone (not just including myself as a fan, but for everyone – fan or otherwise)
do not, I implore you, do NOT “reset the OT market” for a player who hasn’t EARNED it … I’d rather see 16M go to schools or charities or SOMEWHERE that it does more good than line the pockets of an “entertainer”
