Good morning, AG!
Today in Chiefs history, Crazy Joe Phillips was born in 1963. “Crazy?” you ask? Well…
“…what inquiring minds really want to know right now is what the heck happened to Phillips and what’s his state of affairs today? because at last blush – as Covitz so eloquently put it – “How does a man who stands 6 feet 5 inches and weighs 315 pounds disappear? “
Let’s do the news, hopefully without law enforcement involvement…

Ranking the AFC West tight ends |Raiderswire
Kelce has been the best tight end in football over the past six seasons now and has shown no signs of slowing down.
and so, no long-term contract … seems Brown and his agent didn’t think it was enough money for him (whatever) … I mean 30M signing bonus alone? really? REALLY???
Glad the chiefs backed away… what an ass.
He better still show up for camp.
Then we better draft or trade for a real LT next offseason.
I’m happy to draft a replacement, tag him again, and let him walk. Never liked the trade for him in the first place.
Especially since last year was his first as LT.
He wasn’t exactly perfect at protecting Mahomes either. Not worth huge long term contract without showing major improvement.
Well, the Texans are putting it behind them. Watson? Not so much.

Brown will play this year on the FT and be tagged again next year. They may work something out next year or they might just tag and trade him. Either way, I’m good with it. I’m almost glad he didn’t take the deal because if he had played the entirety of the contract he would have been overpaid.
agreed … he can play OR sit out (and lose 1M/wk) … if I were Veach, my thinking is the tag this year and someone new next year
Nail in the coffin?
We apparently got close, so there’s still time

Oops. Forgot to change the date on this.
Bad. 1 star.
You started out with a five.. So you’ve got that going for you
How many do you need? Fine, I’ll give you another one.
Hahaha 🤣…. That’s awesome.
Did the same. A 5 from me raises us up to 3.5.
ditto to 3.7
You guys are so forgiving. I hope Tony doesn’t fire me.
depends on if he thinks you’re worth the salary he’s paying you …
Well, let’s see. I send him $20 every month…
Could you shoot me an email? Username at yahoo.com
wait: YOU pay HIM?!?
well, at least it looks good on your resume …
You don’t think HE’S going to pay for this, do you? 😉
you know I’m not …
to: Veach, Brett
from: Me
please please PLEASE don’t “overpay” Orlando Brown, Jr … the NFL is already one of the biggest reasons for America’s economic inflation (in general) and (IMO) it’s ridiculous seeing some of these guys make 10, 20, 30 million/yr for “playing a game” … sure, I know it’s a “business” but I also know the business is “entertainment” and even though I’ve no money to spend on such things (games? not a chance, jerseys? ha! cheap bumper stickers MAYBE) the continuing upward-spiraling of contracts means more inflation for everyone (not just including myself as a fan, but for everyone – fan or otherwise)
do not, I implore you, do NOT “reset the OT market” for a player who hasn’t EARNED it … I’d rather see 16M go to schools or charities or SOMEWHERE that it does more good than line the pockets of an “entertainer”
just my opinion, thanks for reading

All time Kingdom classic!
That you with the beard?
I feel bad for the poor kid you elbowed out of the way…………..
Well, expected but not good
https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/07/15/little-optimism-about-long-term-deals-for-franchise-tagged-players-by-fridays-deadline/
Friday is the final day that players who have received franchise tags are able to sign long-term extensions with their teams, but there’s not much optimism that any of the four players in that position will come to such agreements.
Bunch of crap
WHAT’S UP CHIEFS’ KINGDOM!
So, I have the new poem out this morning. Another song parody, set to the tune of the classic CCR song, “Proud Mary.” I present: “Training Camp’s Near, Kansas City!” https://arrowheadguys.com/chiefs-song-parody-training-camps-near-kansas-city-to-the-tune-of-creedence-clearwater-revival-proud-mary/
Please like, rate, comment on the link, share. And as always… GO CHIEFS!
AND… the troll is still here. Some Raiders fan among us posted a 1 star on my poem. Guess he just has really messed up standards. 😀
I just hit with with a perfect 5 stars to counter.
I’m fairly sure I know who that is now. Not sure why he’s bothering you.
Poor sap. 1 star-ing posts is all he has left.
Anyway, you’re up to 4.2 stars. Always 5 stars in my book.
Congratulations to Mitch Schwartz on retiring and on a heck of a career, and thanks for coming to KC!
The Chiefs better not sign Orlando Brown Jr. to anything more than $20m per year.
If we remember anything from previous regimes, it should be don’t pay good players great money.
Well, if we do, we can be happy knowing in two years it’ll look cheap. Unless he turns into a stiff. Then it’ll always be expensive
I believe you are both correct. Brown hasn’t shown yet that he’s a market mover, but Nova’s points are valid. Regardless of the outcome, have a good weekend AG, and…
We have a bunch of picks next year too. I’m sure Veach is considering all options.
Also, this couldn’t happen at a worse time. Our DLine is still a big question mark. We also need to make improvements there.
Wishing we drafted a stud left tackle..
He’s pissing me off, from no agent, to a first time agent.. 😩
‘zactly
What happens when he watches smut?
(asking for Rip)
FYI: This AG barista will be out of town for the next two days and cannot promise there will be coffee this weekend.
If someone knew where you find these images, they might be able to fill in for you
That was an offer, btw…
