NFL confirms that moving forward there will now only be one “NFL Redzone” channel. That’s with Scott Hanson hosting.
DirectTV’s deal came to an end and that version of Redzone no longer exists.

I just saw the Otis Taylor died this week. I’m so frustrated that he’s not in the HOF, and I feel sorry for everyone too young to have seen him play. I remember several games where he took over and pulled KC to a win. he was phenomenal back in the days when the rules made it harder for a WR to make an impact like that. With Tyreek cutting his career in KC short, Otis is still WR1 in my book. Thank you, Otis, for all you did!

Otis was a first team all-pro in 71 and 72. During that stretch there are 2 games I recall when Otis played out of his mind. It was a 2 game stretch in Dec of 71.
The first was a Monday night game against SF in SF. For some reason Cosell was slobbering all over SF that game, and Otis came up huge in the biggest moments. He had 5 catches for 81 yds including a 41 yd TD. And then the play I really remember, right after Howard made some comment about how SF had figured out the Chiefs offense and were down just 16-10, Otis took an end around for 25 yds and a TD. It was a beautiful moment. There was still a quarter to go, but that seemed to break SF’s spirit and KC cruised to 26-17 win.
The second was against the Raiders in 71 at home the following Sunday. I had some sort of stomach bug and couldn’t go to the game (my little brother and I were in the Huddle Club that season). The rest of my family went, so I listened to it on the radio – that was back when all home games were blacked out locally. Otis had 8 catches for 113 yds and a TD. The Raiders D were trying to physically beat the crap out of him, but he kept coming and making big catch after big catch and got a standing O when he came off the field at the end of the game.
I still think that 71 team that lost that heart-breaking Double OT game against Miami on Christmas day is still probably the best all-around team KC ever had, was the best team in the league that year. And Otis was the best player on the team and the best WR in the league, getting first team All-Pro honors.
PFT just noted that Otis was runner up for league MVP in 71, the highest finish ever by a WR.
