Below are the report dates for every team, which range from July 18th to the 26th
Rookies, quarterbacks and select injured players are always the first to report to training camp. For the Chiefs, they’ll be traveling up to St. Joe to report to camp on Friday, July 22nd. It’s right in the middle of the range for those specific report dates. As for the veteran players in Kansas City, they won’t be arriving until Tuesday, July 26. That’s just one day before the team’s opening practice, which is reserved for season ticket members. Rookies and quarterbacks will all get a pretty healthy headstart on the veteran players for the team, but that’s not too out of the ordinary for Kansas City.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ salary cap situation is in a much healthier position now compared to this time last year. The team is currently projected to have over $14 million in cap space with 90 players under contract for the 90-man offseason roster.
NFL teams have a total of just over $208 million in cap space to use for the 2022 NFL season. The Chiefs have over $125 million in cap space committed to a total of 10 players on their roster. It’ll be no surprise to see certain players listed among that group of 10, but there are also others that you wouldn’t expect to see there. It provides some context on the composition of the roster and the areas the team may need to address in the future.

That’s nearly $90 million more in guaranteed money at signing than Mahomes will earn over the course of his 10-year contract. Now, the majority of Mahomes’ contract can become guaranteed via its rolling guarantee structure, but it’s all determined on a year-to-year basis.

That slide to the third day of the draft has proved to be fuel for Smith, who wants to make the other 31 NFL teams pay for passing on him.
“Sometimes that’s definitely a thought that goes in my head,” Smith said. “I talked to you, Ramon (Foster), I think it was the Orange & White Game (at Tennessee). You were telling me, play with a chip on your shoulder. Let them feel you every time. Those teams that came down to it, there’s no hate because at the end of the day it’s business. But at the end of the day, I know who I am as a player and I want them to know what they missed out on.”
