Sitting atop the AFC with a 7-2 mark midway through the season is an ideal perch for Chiefs head coach Andy Reid but at the same time, it’s not a performance with which he’s completely satisfied.
“There’s plenty of things we can work on,” Reid said Monday as his team regrouped following the bye week in preparing to host the Philadelphia Eagles next Monday night. Patrick Mahomes knows how to call plays … and he doesn’t have to be in a huddle. The Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback was on the ‘ManningCast’ during Monday’s Denver Broncos-Buffalo Bills game. He called 3 plays and the Broncos followed his strategy en route to a touchdown. That would be a pair of runs and a play-action pass for a TD.

2 thoughts on last nights ending. First, normally when the ball is severly underthrown I dont like the PI call but in this case you have to take into account how bad that corner got his ass handed to him and him desperately trying to make up ground.
Second, the broncos clock manegement strategy was stupid at the end of the game. Trying to prevent the bills from getting 20 seconds with no timeouts on the ensuing kickoff they rushed their kicking unit out who had failed on their last 2 xps and they predictably whiffed. Only to be bailed out by the bills idiocy.
I know it takes mahomes 13 seconds but payton fucked that sequence up. If youre worried about a few seconds run a play instead of kneeling. Tell russ to run a “safety” sneak. Two hands on the ball and push the pile. That would have run an easy 10 seconds off the clock in two plays.
