What the L’Jarius Sneed trade means for the Kansas City Chiefs |ESPN

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39794007/what-ljarius-sneed-trade-means-kansas-city-chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs began planning for the eventual loss of cornerback L’Jarius Sneed two years ago when they picked Trent McDuffie in the first round and selected three more cornerbacks before the 2022 draft was over.

Their plan for life without Sneed was apparent then, but remains to be seen how well they executed it. They might come to regret trading Sneed to the Tennessee Titans for a couple of draft picks.

For now, they received something in return as opposed to losing Sneed as a free agent and getting nothing as he walked out the door. The return wasn’t as substantial as what the Chiefs got two years ago when they traded Tyreek Hill.

My dad Bill Grigsby would be mad at the Chiefs’ billionaire owner asking for a handout | Opinion | KC Star

 https://www.kansascity.com/opinion/readers-opinion/guest-commentary/article287010050.html

My father Bill Grigsby was with Lamar Hunt, Hank Stram and the Kansas City Chiefs from the beginning. We kids went to every game, and were honored and privileged to get to know most of the team — from Jan Stenerud to Lenny Dawson to Willie Lanier and Otis Taylor. I watched the team’s 1970 Super Bowl motorcade from my backyard as it drove along Interstate 29. My parents introduced us to the joy of sitting on the 50-yard line to watch a game. We even got to sit in Lamar and Norma’s box once or twice. How lucky we were.

What’s Going on With Mike Danna? | Sports Illustrated

https://www.si.com/nfl/chiefs/gm-report/could-the-kc-chiefs-bring-back-defensive-end-mike-danna

After spending four productive seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, defensive end Mike Danna hit free agency for the first time this offseason, giving him a chance to cash in after completing his rookie contract. However, the busiest days of NFL free agency have come and gone, and Danna remains unsigned and, at least publicly, not connected to any serious offers or pursuits from other teams. Why has Danna’s market failed to materialize, and could he end up back in Kansas City?

Report: Kansas City Chiefs Could Face Punishment For L’Jarius Sneed Trade | MSN

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/reyouort-kansas-city-chiefs-could-face-punishment-for-l-jarius-sneed-trade/ar-BB1krGXd

The way the Kansas City Chiefs handled their business with cornerback L’Jarius Sneed could get the team in trouble. The Chiefs are set to send Sneed to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a third-round pick and a seventh-round pick.

The Chiefs made the move a few weeks after applying the franchise tag to Sneed. The timing of the trade was curious because the Chiefs didn’t get the second-round pick they wanted. They settled for a third-round pick and change in a bid to clear up nearly $19.8 million in cap space to land more free agent help this offseason.

Patrick Mahomes on ‘the true reward’ of winning Chiefs’ team MVP at 101 Awards | KC Star via Yahoo

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was seated on the opposite side of the dais from Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt at Friday’s 101 Awards news conference.

“I try to stay as far away from that family as possible,” Mahomes quipped.

The 54th Annual NFL Awards ceremony was held at the Loews Kansas City Convention Center Hotel. The black-tie affair is perhaps better known as the 101 Awards, and it honors the best players and coaches from the past year.

L’Jarius Sneed trade: Three reasons Chiefs got so little from Titans for Super Bowl champion cornerback| CBS

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ljarius-sneed-trade-three-reasons-chiefs-got-so-little-from-titans-for-super-bowl-champion-cornerback/

The Kansas City Chiefs valued cornerback L’Jarius Sneed as a “franchise player” with a fully guaranteed $19.8 million to start the 2024 NFL offseason. This week, they agreed to part with him for essentially a single 2025 third-round draft pick, also swapping seventh-rounders to send the star cover man to the Tennessee Titans. So what changed? Or did the Chiefs never believe Sneed warranted a lucrative investment? Here, we’re exploring three reasons the reigning champions got so little in return.

We got so little in draft capital because Tennessee was the only one offering enough $$ to get him and they knew it. No way we were going to be able to work that contract into our cap for the next 4 years. I believe he still contributes to our comp pick formula as well so he might help us net not (1) but (2) additional 3rd round picks next year.

How can the Chiefs possibly get in any trouble for trading Sneed. I don’t even need to read the article to know that it is a waste of time.

Probably just wanted to use a Chiefs topic to try and draw on the non NFL Chiefs fan base (Swift’s). News is news.

gotcha

that said, when I do a MH I use a clone of a clone … why shouldn’t a clone of a clone of a clone be the same as the original template? (in MY mind it SHOULD be, but maybe it has something to do with WordPress?) … any by “the same” I’m referring to the “preview” and the eventual URL once it’s published

ah well, nobody died and no wars were started, so it’s all good

If you look at your post in edit, you will see that the “Jump to” link is there but the target link at the bottom is gone (not looking, but this was the problem last time). So the link works, but it jumps to….no place

I always preview and it always looks perfect or I don’t schedule and publish

and for me, cloning saves me a step or two, as I have a template of my own with date, chiefs history, other news etc ready to go (then full in with whatever news)
