Know your Chiefs – Mike Edwards

Mike Edwards was born on May 18, 1996 in Cincinnati, OH. He attended Winton Woods High School where he was a 4 sport athlete, playing guard on the basketball team and shortstop on the baseball team, along with running track.    He was a four star prospect coming out of high school and was recruited by Louisville, Missouri, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Nebraska and Vanderbilt.  He chose to go to the University of Kentucky. 

After a redshirt year, he played four years at Kentucky, where he never missed a game, playing in 51 games with 44 consecutive starts.  He totaled 318 career tackles, the 19^th player in school history to exceed 300.  He graduated with a degree in family sciences with a minor in criminology.  Other than playing in the NFL, his dream job would be to be a CSI agent.

He was drafted in the third round of the 2019 draft by the Buccaneers.  Thus far in his career, he has 184 tackles, 7 interceptions, 21 pass deflections, and 3 defensive touchdowns.

He signed with the Chiefs on March 20, 2023.
