We seem to have a fugitive on our hands. Do we need a hard-target search of every gas station, residence, farmhouse, hen house, outhouse and dog house in the area?
Meanwhile, the general tone of the conversation seems to be returning to the normal level of sarcasm, snark, and smart-assery, so I consider this to be a sign that most of us are recovering. Bring it, people.
With that, time’s yours.
When did Rick Rubin buy out arrowheadguys?

You say that like its a bad thing…
I heard on radio the other day that Reggie wasnt 100% for ‘some time’ this year and his knee was still bothering him. It got better towards the later part (where in he started to get lesser snaps BTW). I didnt notice anything ever..not in all those 17 games. smh.
Credit to him if he played through it so well that people didn’t notice it, and just blamed it on some sort of mental regression.
Personally, I was blaming it on physical regression. Hitchens – mental. But we’re back at square 1 again with everyone. Not sure Ragland has a home in Spaghettio’s 4-3 though.
Maybe, maybe not, WRT longevity. But if the guy was playing hurt and covering it up so well that most couldn’t even see it? Counts for something in my book.
Reggie is goner IMO. He cant cover shit. Not mike, sam and nothing for him. Give him whever we can and say good bye. We got others whom we can spend our couching resources on.
I have nothing personally invested in Rags, and won’t say he’s unable to do anything as an NFL player. If the new defensive coaching staff can use him, fine. If they replace him, fine.
But I’m not gonna make it a personal thing to demand he get fired. At the fan level, we have nowhere near enough info about his situation. New DC will have new eyes, I’ll leave that to him. Some unexpected moves as to personnel wouldn’t surprise me, nor would the inevitable bitch-fest to follow.
Absolutely agree. And I myself won’t do any changes in personnel or otherwise as demanded by me. I like to vent and bitch and moan. And, where can I vent and get away with it? 🙂
Got me. I mean, afterall, I kinda snuck this whole 3rd shift thing in while Tony wasn’t looking (easier than it sounds, he was insanely busy), and for some reason, nobody’s stopped me.
Sometimes the things that do not kill me, serve only to make me…weirder.
sarcasm?
Praise. If you are seen playing as if you are injured, the other team /will/ notice and exploit it. Disguising it as occasional, unpredictable mental lapses would be a counter to that. Granted, what you want is max performance, but the player is physically limited. While I don’t know it to be the case, it’s an understandable compromise, especially if he’d still be better than his replacement. Any Zombo fans out there wanting that?
But it’s also true that if he was playing hurt, we are not evaluating him at 100%. Riddle me this, riddle me that: If you were an NFL HC, would you refuse to play players who could not perform at 100%? Would you expect their backups to perform just as well as they would if they were 100%?
If Rags was physically limited and played such that it blew smoke that covered for it – and I by no means am saying he deliberately played poorly, I’ll get back to this – that’s a pretty intelligent, sophisticated move.
Now, getting back to the other point, I think it could be argued that greatness in an athlete is in large part determined not by how they did when things were going well, but how they handled things going sideways. If, and I mean “if” Rags managed to play in such a way that his (inevitable, physically limited) losses would appear to be mental? That wouldn’t necessarily qualify him for greatness, but it would be tapping into it.
But we’ll see. Spags, Andy, and Brett have the final say. And none of those idiots will return my calls, damnit.
*10000. Agreed.
Says Reggie’s agent trying to swindle another team into giving him another shot after he gets cut.
Good afternight, Ty. Up early, or late? Either way, welcome back to the asylum.
9.30pm here, so neither?
What do you guys think the next step in maturation for Mahomes will be next season? This year he seemed to be calling the protections pretty well and reading the defense. But I don’t think he had the green light for hot routes or audibles. I’m hoping they add that to his arsenal next season.
Next step: knowing when to throw the ball away and not take the hit
Ain’t that the truth. He took a ton of shots, usually while making a big time throw though.
Also : Sticks matter. Some one in the corner near sticks is first priority over demons streaking across double and triple covered.
Also took some huge sacks that way that set us back
Yeah, those really hurt on 3rd down especially. 3rd and long doesn’t seem to bother him that much. lol
I think nothing bothers pat much. For him it’s always biggest play he can make. And i love him for that. Kid is born that way.
Including one that cost the team three points at a time when it would have been really helpful.
But the primary reason to lay blame on someone is to get rid of them, and there’s no one on the team that I want to do that outright, based solely on one game. Offense, defense or special teams.
Some players will depart, for various reasons. Others will be brought in, through the draft and free agency. But at this point, and especially with Sutton gone, pointing at any player and saying ‘fire him, he lost us the game!’ is both silly and futile. And the hating on Ford’s gotten ridiculous.
Things will be different, next season. Better? We all hope so, but right now, forecasting seriously is also silly. Way too many factors that are sill in play. So why import last season’s gloom and doom, especially about the defense? Or were the problems more about the players than Sutton, and so even with Bob gone, the defense still sucks? If so, sounds like the wrong people got axed.
You can’t have it both ways, after all. Either we had the players to get it done, and Bob couldn’t get them there, or Bob didn’t have the players to get it done. When you are pointing your finger, you can only point it at one thing at a time. Choose.
Me? I’m not pointing fingers, I’m spreading “blame” around. It’s a team sport, and it was a team loss. No unit is “innocent”. They all fell short.
But if next year isn’t going to be different, why bother firing Bob in the first place? He’s gone and we got a new guy. Hope Spags works out, but there’s insufficient data to call it. And besides, every season is always different than the previous one.
I’d point a finger at Ron Parker and say, “Yer fired!” but Reid/Veech already did that.
Eh, firing someone for more general reasons is a different question, because it happens every season.
But I’ll say this much, anyone who wants a particular person fired out of personal animosity is unsuited to hold any position on a team’s staff, in any capacity. Players are a bit different for this, because lots of players are loudmouths, but if you’re evaluation a person and getting angry, you’re probably doing it wrong.
especially true if you are a coach.
My reasons for firing a player are simply that they are simply not as good as the player replacing them. I think players can respect that. Firing a player over a single football instance is childish and Raider-like.
And repeat mental mistakes. I think some mental stuff can be overcome by coaching and practice. Some shits just immovable. That deserves firing.
Yep. Like I said, if the new-look D coaching staff doesn’t think they can use him, he’s gone. I’m ok with that.
My point was that if they think they can get more out of him, and keep him on the roster, I’m not getting upset about it. Those folks are the experts, I’m just a fan.
But obviously, not everyone feels that way.
I personally think Reggie can be good backup. Don’t know how much would be cost. I would love me some run stopper.
*shrugs* If Rags is incompetent and/or incapable, I presume the new D staff will want him gone, but that isn’t the only reason that he might leave. Contracts and scheme fits do lead to good players getting fired, so termination isn’t proof of incompetence.
And if he moves on, I’m not going to keep close tabs on his career, just to “prove” something. Life’s too short for shit like that, IMO. Long time ago, I decided to rein back on my growing herd of grudges, because it was overtaking my life.
Since then, I have just one, and if I ever have the misfortune of meeting him again, if the first words out of his mouth aren’t an apology, I’m taking out the knee he owes me. Because payback’s a bitch. Until then, someone’s gotta do me dirtier to replace him, because there can be only one.
When I choose to hate, I go all-in. That’s why I avoid it if at all possible. Better for everyone that way.
Hey while what you say is right, I think we would have gone nuts had he made some play like tossing it to hill or someone like in ravens game. Kid is wired to make wild splashy plays. I am not so sure we can coach him outta that. And yea, we will lose few games but also win many.
BTW again…fuck sutton. He made me feel ashamed in front of my friends. One fucker called me from US in the midnight just to rub shit in my face. Couldnt justify one single play. Fuck dat.
OK, so you hate Bob. I get that, but Bob’s gone. Ancient history. Bereft of life, he rests in peace. He has shuffled off his mortal coil, and joined the bleeding choir invisible. This DC is no more. Plumage has nothing to do with it, he is an Ex-DC.
As for 2:15PM? I wasn’t saying he nee3ded to tone anything down. Just that he can develop the skills to be a great under-center QB, too. And the sooner he masters that, the better. Doesn’t mean he’s gotta dial it back entirely.
Wait, he’s gone?

Well, he’s not /dead/ dead. He’s only mostly dead.
As you wish.
Nice. Sometimes it seems like most of the references I drop don’t register with anyone. It’s like being stranded in Iowa, or something. And I do it pretty consistently, even.
Hah. I accept that. Sometimes i GRT boneheaded esp. when countered with sane, rational and logical thoughts. BRAG but you cant stop or give up. You are the sane and reasonable voice here.
If you are calling me sane, I have to wonder about your sanity, amigo. But that’s ok, we’re all mad here. That’s why we’re the children of the night.
And hey, you do know that I get that while English isn’t your first language, I expect you know 2-3 beyond your mother tongue on top of that. I won’t sneer if some5thing slides by you – though I might tease you a bit.
F’rex, I dropped a reference in the prior comment. So far, pure whoosh – but that’s not just you. I’m just very…different.
Agreed. I’m not ready tp call him either (May be sample size is not enough). May be he is and will be great under center. May be Andy’s already working on that. Sure as hell he will be great if he learns/ unleashes that coming year.
That’s kind of my point. If Patrick masters under-center play and adds it to his pistol and shotgun capabilities, that’s just one more tool on his utility belt. And I see no reason to believe that he will not master every skillset in the NFL QB position. Guy’s already introduced a couple of his own, to good success, so why wouldn’t he want to keep on adding?
I think Pattycakes wants to see just how far he can take the QB position, and if so, he’ll be out to master everything QBs can do. He doesn’t want to be a fastball-slider-changeup guy, he wants to have every pitch at his disposal.
I think the kid has a vision, and slacking off his development doesn’t appear to be part of it. Or maybe I’ve swilled too much beer, I dunno. But I’m feeling pretty good about the future tonight, so there’s that.
Next step? Well, he has physical skills to refine, and while he played like a young vet at reading offenses (Thanks again, Alex.), calling protections needs more work. Does anyone know for a fact that he blew any protection calls, especially in the first half? Something sure as hell seemed off at the Oline’s play.
But just as importantly, the frontal areas of his brain probably haven’t finished developing yet, and that’s heavily involved with sound reasoning and judgement. So in theory, at least, he’s still got growing to do, as well as learning.
Physically: I think he needs to improve his deep ball accuracy and get more air under it.
Mentally: continue improvement on reading coverages/protections, not taking sacks when in FG range, not taking huge hits in the pocket.
Hopefully he will get more options with hot routes and audibles because he’s started to recognize when he’s in a bad play, but he can’t do anything about it yet.
I think he will learn to dignose those disguises and coverages pretty soon. And may be by now he’s seen most. Andy being in his ear all the time helps even more. I think he hit deep balls pretty good early in the season than in the later part. Dont have the stats but my gut feeling. Also i think it would be tremendous if he can hit them WRs in stride.
My take is that he needs to refine his under-center fundamentals most. It was the knock on him when he was drafted, and while he has come along, he’s got a ways to go. I’d like to see him get to where he’s comfortable and capable from any of the snap positions, not just pistol and shotgun.
Mentally? It’s an enormously complex game, and nothing stays quite the same. So long as he keeps on pace mentally, and doesn’t become complacent, he’ll be fine – but he’s not going to learn it all this off-season. Still, he learns fast, that much is clear, so there’s no reason to believe he’s hit his mental ceiling.
I don’t know if he really needs to work on under center work. Not a huge priority anyway. The league mostly plays out of shotgun these days.
Still a valuable addition to his toolbox. Andy loves him some flexibility, so being just as dangerous from under center as from farther back would be helpful. The more he can do, the more the opposing defense has to be ready to account for.
I’m sure Andy is having all the fun drawing up fun things for his buddy Mahomes.

Still feeing dead inside.
That game took a lot out of me. Probably shortened my life by 5 years. If this keeps up the Chiefs are going to kill me before I hit 40. Haha.
Hey for me it was cardio. Could’ve sweared it went and stayed above 170 for least two weeks.
Yeah, but the trouncing of the Colts had to have added a couple, and who knows how many more some SB games would add, eh? Especially because if we are there, we’ll be the AFC champions, every time.
Absolutely. Now looking back I feel bad for being mopey over last few days.
Don’t feel bad about it, compadre. Just move forward from it. We all had to cope, and that’s ok. Just don’t cling to the past or let it linger too long.
We’re gonna be ok. We have life, we have the Chiefs, and we have each other. those are good reasons for optimism.
Absolutely teacher. I gotta move on and look at brighter sode esp. for next year. And BTW I have been never happier in life when we smoked those colts. Awesome wasn’t it?
Shook free of a lot of baggage, with that one. I can even talk about Lin Elliot now, the poor schmuck. I’d like to see him invited to beat the drum, next season. It’d likely be good for everyone.
Because in the Colts loss to us, Vinatieri missed from close range. Twice. Welcome back to the Kingdom, Lin, glad you could return.
^20000. I agree man. And then he also raised fine family right around KC too. I heard his interview. Seems classy guy. Must’ve been a painful traumatic experience but didn’t blame anyone. Class.
Beyond painful, from the account I read. And yet owned it all the way. That takes some guts.
And now that this stain on our honor has been wiped clean, why not welcome him back? It’s not like the offense was a scoring machine that night. It wasn’t just him.
Don’t despair…big sexy is here….
Well then fire it up, big guy.
Can we keep him on another foot?
We’re gonna need one of them industrial SSSA (Sarcasm, Snark, Smart-Assery) meters. Our current setup won’t last, captain!
Seems that site doesn’t allow direct image linking. As for where the rum’s gone, who knows? I thought it was all BHQV and Good Ass beer here, all the time.
Oh, wait – check Florida, I think someone there has a line on BLQR. Maybe that’s where it is. 😉
Interesting late breaking development. The article that said Mike Smith had been fired along with Sutton and other assistants has been updated, and that part has been deleted.
So….back to: who knows?
Hey that’s the guy I wanted to keep. Cant stunt development of ford, kapaas. Now can we? Fuck packers for trying to steal him.
Not really a theft. Smith has ties to GB, and Spags is going to bring in at least /some/ of his own people. That’s the norm when you’re bringing in a new coordinator.
And besides, Smith was the OLB coach in Sutton’s 3-4, but Spags runs a different scheme, a 4-3 Under. Some of the guys on your liswt may be shifted to D-line, and having two LB coaches stops making sense.
Might as well assume he’ll get somebody competent into the right positions. If I was bringing in a team I personally hand picked, I would bring along people I trusted to do their jobs and achieve the objective. I might not have as much talent as I like (because who ever does?), but they’ll be people I can depend on. Why do I say that? Because it was my attitude in every leadership position I ever held. And it worked.
So I find it difficult to imagine dragging along a bunch of losers he’s doing a favor for. NFL people are not into losing and failing.
I agree and see what you are saying. But given a chance, I would evaluate who o got before I start replacing them. One thing I’ve learned, right people with right attitude matter more than their skills. Mat be spats got better coaches. Who knows. He also deserved to bring in his team. But but….. can we keep Mike smith pls? He did good with ford and CO.
I know, I know. I’ve had my own share of man-crushes, and it hurts, but the divorce is now final, and can’t be undone. Dline or LB, Spags will have competent coaches for them, if Ford stays. Even if they aren’t quite as good as Smith, they will at least bring a fresh perspective to them.
It’s almost inevitable that highly capable people come with their own POVs, and with anything complext, no expert knows it all and the One Right Way to succeed. There are always experts who are approximately as good who each know things the other doesn’t. And as Tamba taught us, staying a threat in the pass rush means a dedication to learning new things.
I called Tamba about done maybe three years too soon. Guy slickered me, and managed to keep improving enough mentally to cover for his physical decline for a couple seasons. Kudos to him for proving me wrong, BTW. He’s another guy I’d like to see in a Chiefs coaching development pipeline. I think he’s still extremely loyal to the team, and the team would be foolish to not help him out if he expresses interest.
Tamba’s one of ours, man. A Chief through and through. And he has things to teach that few Edge players know much about, hand fighting in particular.
Tamba would be great, but I think he has other interests and may be done with football for a while.
Tamba ? As coach? Hell Yeah!
That’s why I said “if he expressed interest”. I think he will maintain close ties to both the team and the city for a long time to come. And if, one day, he steps outside on a crisp autumn day, he’ll smell someone smoking some ribs or something – and it will all come back to him. Arrowhead. Game day.
Or maybe not. Regardless, I wish him well. He’s Kingdom family, to me.
Gotcha 😉
Certain guys mean a lot to KC. Of them, certain ones would make good coaches. I hope they go that route because I think Reid is a great teacher for young coaches.
Reid’s coaching tree speaks for itself. While I kinda get where the talking heads mean when they call Belichick “the greatest football mind of all time”, I think they’re cutting him slack and selling Reid short on coaching development.
He might have the best coaching mind yet, for when it comes to winning games, but when it comes to making people better, he’s a failure. Reid, OTOH, looks to bring out the best in his people, and it shows in the coaches he’s taught.
When it comes to passing on what he knows, Darth Hoodie’s one secretive, selfish son-of-a-bitch.
Absolutely. I would like to see Andy’s tree vs BB’s tree in a game. I feel like Andy’s team would wipe the floor with BB’s team 8/10.
AR Tree beat BB straight up in th SB last year. So…..
And they would everytime too. BB’s just got to be stopped cheating
And what’s more is no one enjoys BB. Coaches or staff. I don’t get how you can enjoy watching that.
Tamba had some kung fu guru teaching him those hand techniques. Didnt he? He can teach those to Ford and easpecially Jones. Next time Jones can strike down darth tommy with his Wuxi Finger Hold .
?w=824&h=346
I don’t miss seeing Tamba coming around the corner in a choke-hold though.
Me neither. Sometimes I feel our pass rush lacks that intensity or edge. Something that QBs should have bad dreams about, something to terrorize and hurt a little.
Even my Raiders fan friend had to admit that it was like the NFL had an unwritten rule that only the most blatant holding would be called against Hali. I mean, when it’s so obvious that a Raiders fan has to admit it’s true, on his own…
Tae Kwon Do, mostly, is my understanding, but I got from the same source that his sensei/trainer had knowledge of other forms and techniques.
Which is all well and good, but the difficult part is in translating it to the game. Tamba took it farther than I’d thought possible, too.
Could’ve been. Kung fu was my ignorant take. But Tamba seemed improved in his hand technique after that. So tamba can contribute right away.
No biggie on that, the list of weaponless martial arts that are effective is long, and spreads across the globe. India has at least a couple forms that I have heard of, but the names escape me, but the Far East has no monopoly on good ones.
Thing is, it seemed to me that Tamba did try to teach his techniques while he was on the roster, with very limited success. That tells me that he still needs to leaqrn how to coach his stuff.
This would mean firing Britt Reid then.
I see EB in similar mould. Ok, had a weird thought- can we restructure EB and then with zero cap impact release him only to bring him back on as coach with highest ever paid coaching assistant? That could work wont it?
We would get too many sideline flags for having a coach on the field.
I would forfeit the game and playing with wussies.
Already played the Patriots.
I would have the Legal Department going over the NFL regs with a fine-toothed comb before I tried pulling the trigger on that.
Weird. Packers stories are still reporting him as their’s.
Yes, the story was just changed to say he (and other assistants) weren’t fired. Or rather, they just deleted the part about people being fired. so maybe he wasn’t fired, maybe he was. Maybe other assistants weren’t fired, maybe they were.
Chiefs website still shows all the assistants, including Smith. Only Sutton has been swapped out by Spags.
Hmmm…
I smell double agent? Or double dipping? Either way, DOUBLE SECRET PROBATION. Tony, on the case!
I wanted to be careful on that. When I first saw that…
Agree anyone?
Most def
Me I Agree! My all time favorite back in the fold hells yeah.
Without a doubt. I hope he does it sooner than later, Lord knows we still need him. Plus, the guy just plain loves football.
Would love to see the Chiefs get him into a coaching pipeline, I think he’d be very good, and feel right at home here.
But put him directly on the coaching staff for next season? No. He’ll need at least some lesser coaching experience, first.
Big part of the question is whether or not he decides to hang up the cleats for good.
It sure I agree with the “not directly on the staff”
I’d be fine with him as the LB coach. I’m guessing that is what you meant. He has great knowledge of the game. The homer in me says he’d be great.
What capacity would you be willing to see him in?
I could see something like Vick, a special assistant. Someone who comes in and observes how to teach.
Start with quality control over LBs .
Yes, he has great knowledge of the game, over and above just the LB position. But just because someone’s good at /doing/ something doesn’t mean they are automatically good at teaching it. D8ifferent skillset, needs some develoment. Intern, special assistant, help getting placed in a college coaching position with a wink aqnd a nod to his return. That sort of thing.
It kinda depends, of course. How high on his priorities is a coaching career path? Has he seriously considered it before hanging up his cleats, and pursued the skillset? We don’t know these things, but I have encountered more than my fair share of people who were good at doing something, and absolute crap at teaching others how to do it.
I think DJ has it in him to become an outstanding coach. He sure’s-hell proved those who said they he’d never learn to be an NFL lineback and would always be “just a freelancer” after he was drafted by us wrong. Anyone else remember all the bitching and moaning about how bad a pick he was? Anyone remember being one of those people? Have yourself a tiny serving of crow, if you were, because he proved those bitching about him to be dead wrong.
But just tossing him into the deep end of coaching, to see if he sinks or swims strikes me as reckless.
I don’t remember those complaints when he was drafted. I for one lost my shit when we drafted him. I didn’t think there was a chance he fell to us or that we would be smart enough to take him.
Haley’s pound seems to have help him too. Can he be chief of pound?
Glad my memory is very selective on these kinda controversies. But I liked DJ52 right from the get go.
I think most of the criticism was right around the time before Haley got here and fired him up again.
I’ve got a rather odd memory, in some ways, but I do remember people knocking him as I described, before and after the draft. Back when Another Place was inhabitable by ordinary humans, of course, but there was at least a vocal minority saying that sort of thing.
But then again, memory’s kind of a funny thing on its own, for a host of different reasons. One of the reasons that a lineup for a witness identification is not a reliable thing.
He can work with DOD. And watch over hitchens in the pound. U
Just to start getting you guys hyped and hop on SS’s bandwagon.
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2409512-steve-spagnuolos-scheme-familiarity-is-what-transitioning-giants-defense-needs
I’m hyped up on how the scheme change can be a good thing. I have to trust Andy here as far as the hire goes.
It’s tough because Andy stuck with Bob too long so I’ve got trust issues there, and Andy has made bad hires at DC before. At least this time he didn’t pick an OLine coach.
I keep telling myself we have better talent on that side of the ball than has been shown, and Not Bob will put them in a position to succeed.
Agree. Lots of folks saying we got little or no talent. Come on. As you say, we got pretty good heap. Ward, filler, ford, kpass, holy moly jones, Nnadi, Lucas, to name few. Houston and berry can be the leaders. We want someone who can coach, light fire and bring passion. Also someone who wont need Andy’s attention and can D. I think Spagy brings all that. Now as far as position coaches are concerned, we have good dline coaches. DB and linebackers is something we gupta rebook at.
I’m not content to just let Tony take this one for the team. I’ll let it play out, but meanwhile I’ll be working on my time machine and T800 to avenge Tony.
This may take a minute.
Better break out the BHQV.
Hah! Material X?
Not Chemical X?
Haha. ?????
Still disappointed no one mentioned the Back to the Future references in my satire piece about fans being upset the Chiefs hadn’t won a playoff game in 7 days…
It’s been a minute. Were you referencing the second one where he gets the sports almanac and the Cubs win the WS?
No. The two “fans” I interviewed at Walmart…Emmett Brown and B. Tannen? Brown says he wishes there was a way to go back in time and re-live that day…Tannen adds “I’d rather bewaxing my boss’s car than go another day without a playoff win”
I must have missed that article entirely because there’s NO way I would have missed ‘Mad Dog’ Tannen.
https://arrowheadguys.com/2019/01/19/chiefs-fans-still-unhappy-with-postseason-results/
Ohhhh yeah. Out of town for that weekend. Definitely would have caught that one, but filled it with used pinball machine parts.
Wait, this might be part of a message. BB sent a gang of Libyan Nationalists after you, didn’t he? That twisted old codger…
I saw it, wanted to comment something about BUTT HEAD, but couldnt come up with anything clever that quick.
If I had a nickel for every time I thought that…
The French have an expression for that. Forget the words, but it translates as “staircase wit”, and means when you think of the perfect thing you could have said, as you’re climbing the stairs back to your home.
But I think most people who are considered to be “quick witted” actually have a selection of quips readied beforehand. Look, I give Robin Williams all kinds of props for improv (just watch any time he works with his idol, Jonathan Winters), but back when the wife was on a talk-show kick, I saw him make the rounds – believe I was still watching Letterman, as well – and I noticed how often he re-used his “improvised” stuff.
Not taking away from his legacy, the guy deserves all the accolades – but it goes to show that even he couldn’t improvise anything and everything at a moment’s notice. He prepared himself, and did his homework. I respect that.
Made me think. I remember when we won our first playoff game in 22 years and we though monkeys we’re shed. Then we had two years of epic failures.
This year we shed a 25 year old monkey. There are two things left. Bring home the family trophy, and then get a Lombardi.
I’m hoping that the first of those is less than 365 days away and the second is merely two weeks after that.
Wow. We really seem to have forgotten the proverbial monkey. Now seems we got new orangutan on our back and that’s beating hoody. I think this offseason we are planning to get there
Eh, Darth Hoodie wasn’t much when he had Drew Bledsoe, and Bledsoe was pretty damn good. When Drew went down, Hoodie knew he’d discovered his apprentice. But what can Darth Hoodie do without Darth Tommy? That remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, while it isn’t inevitable that we will get better on defense, there’s at least enough to justify some cautious optimism. Meanwhile, Patrick will be a better QB next year. When it comes to studying and learning, he’s a grinder, his TT grades are a testament to that.
And generally speaking, his body won’t be fully mature for the next year and some. Mahomes’ best football days lie ahead of him.
I just watched a video of Shannon Sharpe (and Skip) talking about why Reid isn’t a great coach. He was using examples about Shannyham. I looked into his record, he was a bum of a coach with out Elway.
So I got to thinking, what will be Reid’s greatest coaching job? Seriously, if he wins 3 Superbowls with an ultra-talented Mahomes, I think it still might not be his best. What he did with an average QB in McNabb really sticks out. He won a historically tough division how many times with AS11? He did what with Vick? Andy can coach his butt of guys, and I’m excited to see how far the Chiefs can go with this pairing.
Agree on Andy. I think he’s the best I ever watched. Hoodie didn’t do jack shit without tommy boy.
Also I think Andy will do what’s moral to victory than being cut throat like hoody. That’s the complete SB win for me. I will take 1 SB by Andy over 50 bu hoodie. I still think SB as a whole is not just trophy for the sake of winning it. Like Andy, winning it has to make positive contribution and take society forward in General.
Rat face just rode Elway and CO. Some are born to do that.
If Mahomes is what I think he is, May not be a gold digger as some folks think. I see bright bright future for KC with him and Andy come next 5 years.
May be we are not ready yet.:)

LOL. Cant imagine doing that or getting IN there in the first place.
the best open thread on the internet today…
Cant say otherwise. Where is BRAG?
Over on the previous thread, adding a comment. I do not type fast. My typing is more half-fast than anything else.
Well, at least it’s better thought out that way and less mind vomit.
I disagree. NOT ME! Stop looking at me!!

That hurts.
Gotta wake you up somehow. (notice you’re not NOT-ta2tony lol)
Thats right. I’m back!
Well, good. Now I can stop working on the T800 that I haven’t started and my time machine to fix that paradox.
…or am I?
Well damn, I’ll fire it back up again while powered on Bert’s.
Personally, I want a T-1000 as my henchman.
Dont stay still long. The henchmen will be on your trail. And with them comes hell hounds, at least Meat Loaf sang of hell hounds.
