Damn. Big news day
This offseason got a lot more exciting today.
Sure did.
yeah it did
bern mentioned by some pundits , maybe re,-do Tranguill and couple others
I’m not sure I like this at all. Depends on how much dead money it pushes forward. If not much, OK.
Convert to signing bonus? I honestly don’t know how they push all this around
it’s Magical Accounting 101
Trent McDuffie deserves a payday. He was phenomenal for us while he was here. I wish him well.
Still…
💯
He’s mostly been spectacular. Pickins and Cee Dee took advantage with their size, as I recall.
Win win win
22 gets a bag
Rams plug a hole
Chiefs plug a few holes
💯
Yup, good.
Who is out there in this range do we think?

I don’t know. Who is a cut below Etienne?
Pacheco?
(just kidding)
Just one cut below, not 4
Rico Dowdle has been tossed around.
Dowdle was pretty good this year. Wouldn’t hate these pickup
That’s solid compensation.
yessir
Yea, I cant be mad at this trade. Cant pay everyone and it sounds like a long term deal wasnt going to happen, so I’ll take that draft haul over 1 year of Trent. Sounds like they did him a solid to by sending him to his hometown.
Sums it up pretty well
a tad bit upset, are we?
Man, we’re getting 4 draft picks, including a 1st rounder!
Could be worth it.
this year alone we go from 6 picks to 9 picks
Moneyball
it’s not a re-build, it’s a re-load
If it’s a re-load, we are contenders next season.
like DUH
Reid & Mahomes & Spags & EB: you expect anything less?
We just traded our best secondary guy. Seems like we do that every season. Our best dline guy is exhausted. The rest of the dline is a joke. Sorry, Karliftis isn’t good. He’s barely ok. We don’t even know when Patrick will be back. We don’t have a ground game. Our WR group is still a question mark. Travis is getting old. Our oline is still a question mark. This is a reload? Sorry, but I have my doubts about a SB run next season. I hope I’m wrong.
Reid and Spags aren’t on the field. They’re excellent coaches, but even they need good players to make a run.
I also hope you’re wrong
(the good news is that you generally are, so there’s hope for Chiefs Kingdom yet). 🥳😁🤪😊😎
So looking at things without red colored glasses is panicking? We’ll see how the draft goes. Rookies almost always come in and play awesome.
what did we get for hill?
March 23, 2022, the Kansas City Chiefs traded WR Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins for five draft picks (2022 1st, 2nd, 4th round; 2023 4th, 6th round).
Hill signed a 4-year, $120 million extension with Miami, including $72.2 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid WR at the time.
So does this increase the likelihood they are targeting Love with 9? Now they can still get a DL at 29? Is there a reason to bundle them and move up? Trade 9 back and get a 1 and another 2?
Oh my!
I’m not sure if I’d use that high of a draft pick on a rb. we’d only have him for 4 years. the fifth year option would likely be more than most established RB’s are worth. I’d think that high we should have a good chance at a good pass rusher
So we’d “only” have him 80% of his likely peak career. If, big if, he is that good, I think it’s hard to let him pass to get a maybe on the DL. We could probably use 29 and something else to move up for a DL.
Let’s not let one RB miss become two.
I have no problem with Love at 9, if the brain trust thinks he’s that guy
Mahomes is not going to be getting a lot better, so we need the best players possible RIGHT NOW.
If Love is one of those players, then it’s worth it.
The problem is, he isn’t guaranteed to be good in the nfl. look no further than
CEH. Is Love good at pass pro? never saw him play..;;
aye, there’s the rub …
to be sure there are never any guarantees in the draft, regardless of position
Getting a d-lineman falls under the exact same risks.
And Love > CEH.
See? This is what I call “Blackledge Syndrome”. It kept us from going for a 1st rd QB for years, until we finally broke free with Patrick.
The situation is being repeated with CEH.
You’d pass on who you think (and “you” is the FO) is a lock to be a difference maker because you missed once?
Years of “good enough” QBs should tell us that we can’t keep thinking that we can plug ANYBODY in at RB and succeed. We did for years, and the last two it blew up in our faces. Nothing to slow the rush, so Mahomes got beat up.
Gotta break the cycle
part of it is that we don’t use rb’s like others
I bet that changes this year with Pat’s knee and all.
And Pat will need to learn to get rid of the ball in 3 seconds or less more often.
hard to argue that singular point, but …
losing McDuffie, Watson, Cook, Chenal (pending any of those guys re-signing) the Secondary is being stripped barren … and the D-Line has been for a year or two
Good points. I hope we keep some as many as possible.
That point only matters IF we lose Watson and Cook, as well.
We can use that other #1 for the DL
Late round DL is probably not very good.
But I don’t like the idea of a short-armed guy at 9, either.
No. The stat about guys with <31" arms have ONE sack in the last 5 years pretty much sold me as no
if we lose JUST Watson as seems likely, that means we’re down our #1 and #2 CBs from last season, and in a passing league that’s *no bueno*
So we now have 2 1st rd picks, plus two extra late rounders this year, and a 3 next.
I’ll miss him, but that’s not too bad, I guess
sounds like a pretty good haul to me.
Ho Li Kow
BV ain’t playin’ around
so, do we keep Watson? Cook??
and who to play in the slot: Kevin Knowles? Nohl Williams?
Not that he’s called for advice, but I’d do everything I could to sign Watson and get ready to do his thing in the draft.
I can’t believe your phone isn’t ringing all the time from BV calls …
He doesn’t answer unknown numbers
Nailed it!!
Damn straight!
