Chiefs’ DT Derrick Nnadi is Making a Difference One Dog at a Time | Mothership

“Everything scared him. If I dropped my phone and it hit the ground, he’d run away,” Nnadi recalled. “Because of that, I started taking him anywhere and everywhere I went. I introduced him to new surroundings, people and other dogs just to help him come out of his shell a little bit. Going through all that, it got me thinking about other dogs and what they’re going through – abused animals and dogs living in shelters that can’t seem to find a home. That’s how I got the idea.”

Potential offseason moves for the Kansas City Chiefs | UMKC News

The Kansas City Chiefs have won the Super Bowl for the first time in 50 years, but now it is time to think about how they will defend their title.  This offseason will be a monumental time for the Chiefs to evaluate their roster, and look to improve their team on both sides of the ball. What is hard to think about right now, since the Chiefs just celebrated their title on Wednesday, is that this team still has room to improve.  This team was not a perfect product, however that is why there is so much excitement about the future of the Chiefs. With just a few moves this offseason, the Chiefs can become even more of a powerhouse next season and beyond.

Arrowhead Guys Twitter:

The 2019 salary cap was $188.2 million, so another $10M+ jump. Whether, and how much more, the salary cap would rise in 2020 under a new CBA would depend on whether that additional revenue is counted towards salary cap or benefits.

Negotiations are ongoing, but the NFL and NFLPA are projecting a salary cap of roughly $200 million per club for 2020. If new CBA is ratified, revenue would increase from expanded playoffs, which could cause the cap to rise somewhat. Bigger jumps expected in 2021 and beyond.

“Missouri Western is elated to welcome the champions back home to our campus,” school president Mark Wilson said in a statement. “Working together with the Chiefs over the past decade has clearly been beneficial for the club, the university, our community partners and the state of Missouri.”

The announcement includes word of new seating areas being built for fans attending training camp practices and other renovations to the facilities housing Chiefs players, coaches and staff during camp.

Jones said on Pardon My Take that getting under a quarterback’s skin is part of the way he plays the game, and with Brady, that means referencing his age.

<blockquote>“If he on the ground, you call him an old-ass motherf–ker. Or, ‘Get your old ass up.’ [Or], ‘You need to f–king retire,’” Jones said, via CBS Boston. “Brady got up so f–king fast, that’s the quickest I’ve ever seen Brady move.”

Question: How can they pay Patrick Mahomes without purging Chris Jones and other key contributors from the Super Bowl team?

Answer: According to Bleacher Report’s back-of-the-envelope calculations, the Chiefs can pay both Mahomes and Jones as long as they don’t try to do much else. The trick will be giving Mahomes a contract with a mammoth bonus and lots of backloaded cash and not worrying about what that does to the 2022 or 2023 salary cap, because he’s Patrick Mahomes and he’s worth it.

At least they got this part right:

because he’s Patrick Mahomes and he’s worth it.

They can plan to re-structure Mahomes’ base salary whenever they need extra cap space, too. That’s usually bad for the team because it negates the ability to cut or trade the player, but we’re gonna want to keep Mahomes forever anyway.

The Chiefs finished the regular season seventh in scoring defense and 17th in yards allowed, both significant improvements over the 2018 season, when they finished 24th and 31st, respectively. But the Chiefs had more than statistical improvements in mind. They wanted fourth quarters like the one against the 49ers.

He’d return to action in the final game of the regular season and play a significant role on defense and special teams throughout the playoffs. He recorded one sack, five tackles, a QB hit and a pass defended against the Houston Texans in the divisional round.

The LB analysis on the AG was an essential read for people who wonder if we should sign CJ to an extension. We have to put in the equation all players we need to be successful this year and the other 4 years on CJ upcoming contract to see if we can afford him

I believe in BPA in the draft, we can save money against the salary cap if we draft a player and he is on a rookie contract for 5 years.

We also need to think about the players we have to replace in the next 2 or 3 years like Fisher and Schwartz, were going to have to think about contract extension to Kelce and Hill. What do we do with the Honey Badger?

I see people figuring how we can cut the salary cap this year to keep C.J., we also have to put PM15 35 to 40 million contract into the equation to keep CJ for 5 more years.
