When the NFL announced the primetime schedule there must have been weeping and gnashing of teeth in Bristol, Connecticut. With such a terrible lineup the ESPN office printers were surely running at maximum capacity printing out the resumes of employees seeking to escape before the next round of inevitable layoffs came. The Mouse sharpened it’s sickle as it prepared to find an appropriate executive to take the fall.
But the eye of the storm has arrived. For one brief, glorious moment ESPN will broadcast a professional football game that people actually want to see, as the 2-1-1 Lions take on the 4-1 Packers at historic Lambeau Field, this game will go a long way of determining the final pecking order in the NFC North.
In other news Eliud Kipchoge ran a marathon in under 2 hours a couple days ago, which is absolutely ridiculous. To understand how fast that is, go out to your local track and run a lap in 1:09, and do that 105 times, and you’ll fall just short of the 2 hour marathon.
I think I’ll do a Netflix marathon instead.
