Oklahoma has turned their defense around in half a season. KC has no excuses. Oklahoma will continue to get better. Chiefs? Meh.

BleedingRedAndGold

So far as KC goes, IMO the only way you can expect little improvement is to believe that results are all about individual effort while teamwork is minimal.

Since playing defense actually does involve teamwork and an innate understanding of what your teammates’ assignments and tendencies are within the defensive call, and the communications necessary to adjust to what the offense is presenting, I see the D as having a significantly higher ceiling, and they’re already in the middle third of the league, unless you focus on one or two selected statistics.

Of course, there may be some out there who prefer having a gloomy outlook for the team. To those people I apologize for disturbing your negative expectations.

You’re entitled to your opinion and you voiced it well. I’m so incredibly down on KC right now…I honestly can’t believe how down I am on them. I need to see something out of them on Sunday. NEED.

BleedingRedAndGold

Thank you, and I’m sorry to hear that a Dilbertian cloud of gloom has attached itself to you. Of course nothing is certain, but if it heartens you, I read here earlier, I think in The Huddle that HOU’s got OL problems, which should help our D a bit. Also bear in mind that against Indy Ryan Hunter had a horrific game, which left Erving, a backup LT at best, over-extended. That rendered the left side of the line ineffective. Give Erving mere competence to his right and I think we’ll see some real improvement on offense.

It still kinda boggles me how many people insist on talking about other things while ignoring the Hunter issue. He was the weakest link in that chain, by a long shot, but it’s the rest of the linemen who are the problem still? Huh?

So West Virginia is wearing mostly gray today.
Interesting, because West Virginia was formed by breaking off from Virginia because they didn’t believe in secession.

Now all the know-it-alls can attack that irony.

Davantae Adams ruled out tomorrow. Lions looking better and better.

Just locked in Iowa State -4.5
This in-game shit is nee to an old-school guy.
I know it’s a road game, but this Purdy kid is gonna be good. Maybe even Stanzi good. 😁

I had Bowling Green +26.5. I think they won outright. May have left a few bucks on the table there.

Texas came through with the back door cover.

I’m rolling, one week after I damn near swore off Saturdays, degenerate gambler that I am.

Bowling Green won. 20-7. They were 26.5 point home dogs.

Dude, Email me drollyd56@gmail.com let’s place some bets

Looks like Georgia is going to lose at home to South Carolina.

The announcer brought up Mahomes and compared Fromm to him. It’s a weird feeling having a QB that’s brought up in random games.

Tony Sommer

Or not, apparently South Carolina’s kicker isn’t very good.

OU lets Texas back in the game. Damn near flipped the field for them.

Texas special teams suck. Reminds me of Chiefs. Smh.

BleedingRedAndGold

The current special teams unit is shorter on linebackers than what they had in the 3-4 alignment. Now they’re in a 4-3, and the difference should be obvious. LBs are heavily valued on the ST side, so Toub’s had to make adjustments. Point is that his unit was disrupted along with the new D, and both need playing time to adjust.

There’s a vast difference between easing new players into an established unit and building a unit with a lot of players who’ve never played together as a unit before. Lots of people like glossing over that, but if it’s an opinion it’s one with the weight of logic and evidence behind it.

UofH is forcing their seniors to redshirt or not having any play time.

I am currently sweating out Texas +10.5
My book has a promo on the Iowa game — lay $25 or more on Iowa moneyline and if they win by 10 or more they’ll double the payout.
IF my early games net me $25 I’ll say “wtf.”

I curently have Iowa +3.5
