3rd shift starts in a few, y’all.

Tony Sommer

I enjoy Hard Knocks talking about how much better the Rams are.

WaywerdSon
WaywerdSon

can you imagfine trying to get a team together and you gotta deal with that antonio brown fiasco? wear an approved helmet you dipshit. when that son of a bitch was a no show for a regular season game as far as im concerned he should be unemployable

Snafu
Snafu

Improved? They added a great running back (by draft standards) in the draft. Don’t know much else.

WaywerdSon
WaywerdSon

its child abuse to take a kid to that cesspool of a stadium

EAFOX

Rams backups got dominated in their last preseason game.

EAFOX

The next Chief that needs to be inducted is Marty Schottenheimer.

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

It’ll be, or at least should be Taylor this year since they want to clear some of the logjams in the senior area. There is no legitimate reason he shouldn’t be in by now other than the fact that half that 1969 team is already in. He revolutionized the position because of his size.

EAFOX

Taylor is deserving as well. Good call.

Tony Sommer

Bigger matters afoot. Nice pun Hard Knocks.

EAFOX

I had the thrill of a lifetime today – met and shook hands with DAT. Was in the same meeting with him for an hour.

MidKan Chiefs Lifer
MidKan Chiefs Lifer

That’s pretty awesome. You didn’t by chance ask him to race did ya?

EAFOX

I was surprised – and I know the stats – how big I looked next to him. I am 6′ 1″ 250 lbs.

pompano
pompano

He doesn’t work out everyday anymore…

EAFOX

His out of shape makes me look soft.

pompano
pompano

it’s not like he’s an O linman 4+ yrs retired 🙂

MidKan Chiefs Lifer
MidKan Chiefs Lifer

Well he seems like the type that would be in far better than average shape when not working out regularly.

EAFOX

Seemed like a real nice guy as well.

Leaf
Leaf

His soft makes me look fat. Oh wait, I am. Never mind. Carry on.

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

To go further back, T-Rich should be Canton bound. A lot of backs had a lot of good years with him paving the way for them.

EAFOX

Hard to quantify numbers for a FB

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

I look at the seasons guys like an aging Allen, Priest, LJ, AP and even Thomas Jones had while he was back there. People talk about the 2003 OL but guys like Dunn and T-Rich were just as big a part of Holmes’ year as the line was.

EAFOX

Not saying I disagree but how many of Marcus or Priest’s yards are due to T-Rich? Impossible to give a number.

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

Damn shame that you can’t find splits from back then.

WaywerdSon
WaywerdSon

100%. If TRich didnt pick off the inside pursuit that good, Roaf wouldnt have been free to lead around the end. He was the engine that made those sweeps go

EAFOX

Would like to say 100% but was T-Rich in the game for every single Priest run?

pompano
pompano

My unreliable memory says 65+%
some really good ones too, hand on TRich’s hip then ……………..

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

The Chiefs were under center almost 90% of the time and I would guess he was on the field at least 65-70% of the time, especially on run plays.

EAFOX

Not attacking T-Rich cause I love the guy and is deserving of Hall consideration but fullbacks do not have stats that are more than speculation for the voters to consider.

BleedingRedAndGold

Not making a comparison, but Kimble Anders wasn’t so very bad a FB, either.

MasterChief
MasterChief

Agreed! Tony Richardson should be in the HoF. He was the best in the league for many years and blocked for greats like Marcus Allen, Larry Johnson, Priest Holmes, Adrian Peterson and more. He was also my Dad’s favorite player of all time.

Tyrone
Tyrone

Why doesn’t every Chief ever just get inducted

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

I was including guys who at some point could get in. Not saying on the first ballot.

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

Which former Chiefs or current Chiefs are Canton bound at some point? In terms of current, Kelce and Colquitt should along with Mahomes and Schwartz. In terms of former Chiefs, Hali should get a nod at some point and I will even throw Waters in there too.

WaywerdSon
WaywerdSon

Hali should but he wont. I think Priest should be in over Hali, personally and that wont ever happen either. I personally believe holding any all-time NFL record, no matter how quickly it gets broken, should automatically at least get you nominated

pompano
pompano

I love Tamba, but not a HOF career, and a punter?
I’ll read this as sarcasm (outside of Waters)

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

Why shouldn’t specialists like Colquitt be considered?

Tyrone
Tyrone

Ha he been clearly the best punter in the league for a reasonable period of time? Has he changed the game in anyway? Has he set any special records?

He’s just been a very good player. Nothing more.

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

I remember an article at the other place that was comparing his numbers to Ray fucking Guy and they were better or close to it. He has been Mr. Consistent ever since he was drafted back in 2005.

https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2018/6/21/17489646/dustin-colquitt-the-greatest-ever

pompano
pompano

So Dustin will get in 3rd ballot (2034) after 3+ more yrs of elite production.
sorry Tamba

Tyrone
Tyrone

Well there’s currently all of 1 punter in the Hall, so, good luck Dustin, but don’t sit by the phone waiting.

Fire_FG_the_moron
Fire_FG_the_moron

His rate of pinning teams deep in their own zone is WAY up there. So YES, he has had an impact on the game.

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

Field position is important, especially if your defense is bad.

pompano
pompano

He was our best offensive weapon for a lot of games…
good times

Leaf
Leaf

While I don’t fully disagree with your point, to be fair, his stats would probably be better if he still had Matt Cassel for a QB.

EAFOX

Best point of the night.

pompano
pompano

They should, but not as highly considered.

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

I really wish they would include special teams a lot more. Guys like Slater and Hester deserve to get in.

pompano
pompano

HOF shouldn’t be just about the #s (records), but it kinda is ….
your point stands.

Tyrone
Tyrone

Tamba was almost exclusively a pass rusher. He is currently 47th all time in sacks (sacks only counted since 1982). He’s 18th in forced fumbles, but those are only since 1993.

Tamba is not even close.

Tyrone
Tyrone

The Hall of Fame is becoming the Hall of really good players.

Hali should not even sniff the HOF. I love him as a player and a Chief, but he shouldn’t even be close.

Colquitt, no

Kelce, if he keeps this pace up for 6 more years and gets to say…12,000 yards and 80 TDs, yeah probably.

Schwartz, not close so far. But if he plays the way he’s been playing for the past 3 years or so for another 4-5 years, and never misses a snap. Sure.

Pat, at this pace, yes, obviously. Way too early to tell though.

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

If Gronk is considered a first ballot guy, all Kelce should have to do is eclipse him in yards and he should easily do this.

pompano
pompano

TDs + SBs > yds

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

Tom Brady>Alex Smith/Foles/Daniel

pompano
pompano

pretty sure

Tony Sommer

Hold on let me do the math on that one…

comment image

pompano
pompano

base 8 is tricky
he’s got 8 ….nm

Tony Sommer

That’s a good one.

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

I don’t think SB’s should have any bearing on this.

Tyrone
Tyrone

I can agree with you there. Unless we’re talking about QBs, then it should have some bearing.

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

QB’s yes in some cases. No way should Eli get a Canton call before Rivers.

MidKan Chiefs Lifer
MidKan Chiefs Lifer

Rivers is Overrated. Has consistently cracked under pressure his whole career. I mean that as in when the game is on the line more so than when he gets pressured.

legal_kush
legal_kush

Rivers in the HOF?
Cocaine is one helluva drug.

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

Rivers- 54656 yards, 374-178 with a 64.5 completion%
Big Ben- 56194 yards, 363:190 with a 64.4 Comp%
Eli Manning- 55981 yards, 360:239 with a 60.3 Comp%

Two of these QB’s are considered Hall of Fame QB’s and Rivers should outlast both of them unless his arm finally gives out. If Eli is considered a Hall of Fame QB so is Rivers.

EAFOX

Quarterbacks without Super Bowl wins need to have outstanding credentials – note Dan Marino – to make it into the Hall. Big Ben and Manning are elevated by their SB wins. May still not be worthy,

kabrink
kabrink

yeah, I have a hard time Eli going to HOF. I am sure he will but don’t like it.

EAFOX

The dramatic SB win over the undefeated Patriots probably pushes him in.

pompano
pompano

i love sarcasm

you’re a great guy!

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

Schwartz has been one of the best tackles in the game the last 4 seasons or so. Problem is that no one takes the RT’s seriously even today.

Tyrone
Tyrone

How many tackles in a 4 year period should get into the HOF? Remember you only get a maximum of 8 inductees every year (still too many), and that includes non-players, and players who were snubbed long ago. You have to be one of the very best at your position for an extended period to get in. Or a quarterback.

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

Luckily this year should knock out a lot of the snubs like Boselli and my guy Otis Taylor.

Tony Sommer

Andrew Luck is going to miss the rest of the preseason with an ankle injury. I bet he doesn’t come back by week 1 if it’s that bad.

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

Were it not for the fact that he was a first overall pick, the Colts probably would have shopped him.

Sudden
Sudden

If Andrew Luck and Sammy Watkins were on the same team, would they ever be healthy enough at the same time to actually play together?

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

One thing I love about this team is the never-ending personalities. You look at other teams (looking at you Oakland) and how the coaches can’t reign in some of these guys but Reid has had very few true problem players.

MidKan Chiefs Lifer

Man do I miss the DJ special RB destroyer.

Tony Sommer

So Hard Knocks tonight, hopefully it’s more entertaining than the last one.

Dave B.

There’s also a Raiders’ game on tonight.

Tony Sommer

That’s Thursday.

kabrink

does it really matter?

WaywerdSon

I am so looking forward to this episode. HBO oughta have a field day with the AB bullshit. I wanna see this home paint job on that helmet

Tony Sommer

Considering I spent 10 minute trying to figure out when it was on, yes.

NM_ChiefsFan
NM_ChiefsFan

I know a lot of it was against backups, but Darron Lee made some plays on Saturday.

On my way back to the Kingdom tomorrow (though not for the reasons I had hoped) for the first time in over a year.

Time to get pumped and make the best of a rough situation (family funeral)!

From what you have said he had a good run. It’s sad but also worthy of celebration/rememberance FWIW.
