The Kansas City Chiefs have traded for
Patrick Peterson in a blockbuster deal Jets LB Darron Lee for a 2020 6th round pick, per Terez Paylor.
The Chiefs have traded a 2020 sixth-round pick to the New York Jets for LB Darron Lee, a source tells me.— Terez A. Paylor (@TerezPaylor) May 16, 2019
Lee is a former 1st round pick of the Jets in the 2016 draft, taken 20th overall. At 6’1 and 230 lbs he looks like he will be a fit at WILL in Steve Spagnuolo’s 4-3 Under defense This raises questions about Hitchens playing the position, as previously reported, or moving to MIKE and Ragland potentially being replaced. That still leaves Chiefs fans to wonder what’s going on with fan favorite Dorian O’Daniel, who many want to see in the WILL backer role.
Or its very possible that new Jets Interim-GM Adam Gase didn’t like Darron Lee going 50 Shades of Steven Nelson with his tweet shortly after Jets GM Mike Maccagnon was released, a tweet that was soon deleted.
And just because I can, here are a look at his stats from his three years in the league. Nothing to write home about, but not the worst I’ve seen. Also you can check out Terez Paylor’s draft evaluation on him below.

What are your thoughts on the trade?
