Colin Cowherd says Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes is the most dynamic player in the NFL | Clutch Points

Colin Cowherd didn’t mince words or use a circumlocution to make his feelings known: The talk-show host believes that Patrick Mahomes is the most dynamic player in the NFL.

Jalen Ramsey worth trading first round pick for | KC Kingdom

Personally, I would love to see this trade happen. It would immediately shore up a position that the Chiefs have been trying to fill since they traded Marcus Peters to the Los Angeles Rams last offseason. That’s just the googly-eyed fan in me though.

Ramsey is 24 years old and is already widely considered the best player at his position in all of the NFL. However, he has been known to
run his mouthand when things weren’t exactly going great for the Jaguars.

Potential wide receiver prospects for Chiefs in each round of 2019 NFL draft | Chiefs Wire

Round 3: Emanuel Hall, Missouri
Hall has proved to be one of the best athletes in this receiver class. He ran a sub-4.4 40-yard dash, jumped a 43.5 inch vertical and posted 15 bench-press repetitions at the combine. He did all of this while dealing with a lingering groin injury too. If that’s not competitive toughness, I’m not sure what is.

One thing I love about Hall is that he wins with his releases and can defeat press man coverage regularly. If you don’t get hands on him at the line of scrimmage to disrupt his route, he’ll run right past you. That’s a valuable asset to have at the next level. His lack of versatility will likely hurt him, and he seems reliant on his ability as a deep threat. The Chiefs like receivers who can do a bit of everything.

Hall was in Kansas City for
their local pro day, and they had planned to work him out privately prior to the pro day. There is certainly some interest.

3 Most Overpaid Players on the Chiefs | 12UP

2. Demarcus Robinson

Patrick Mahomes needs targets to throw to, but paying an underwhelming receiver like Demarcus Robinson $2 million is silly. It’s not even that much, but for Robinson to get paid the same as Tyreek Hill is clear overpaying considering the production gap between the two.

If you're curious about Clark, watch him against Smith/Whitworth and other elite tackles. Most guys get worked over against them. Clark does not.

SDNativeinTX you are getting dangerously close to forfeiting your draft pick for the mock draft. Check your email. Tomorrow I give away your pick.

i would trade a 1st for Ramsey, if other things are in place. maybe trade a 2020 first?

however, he is on his 4th year. as a first rounder, his 5th year option is being picked up. so we could get him in a rental for 2 years and then let him walk. in that case, i would trade a 2nd rounder, NOT a first for him.

again though, if we like him a lot and want to pay him, then a 1st rounder isnt that bad.

I’m fully on the Ramsey train and think he is worth a 1dr assuming he is willing to re-work his deal. He only has one year left right?

ElPasoJason
ElPasoJason

Just looked it up, he would definitely have to be open to a team friendly deal to spend a first. I would give a 2nd to rent him for a quick super bowl ring then he’ll get paid on thw open market though.

To be clear, 2019 is his last year om this deal, then he’d be looking at wanting to get paid crazy money I would bet. That would take from our Mahomes money, so pass on a 1st. Unless the money of an extension makes sense.

And he’s on the wrong side of the fine line between Supreme confidence and Head case.

Yeah, hard to tell if he is a head case or just a product of the dumpster fire that is Jacksonville.

Fansided put out an article suggesting its time to move on from Kelce. The stupid has no limits.

That’s some logic right there!

Granting that I don’t follow his tedious antics, from what I have seen, he’s about as consistent as a weather vane while being even less useful.

A 1st round pick like Dee Ford for 5 years

Or

A top 5 CB for the next 5 years

1st round rookie salary vs top 5 production salary

A rookie breaking out in his 5th year for a new contract

Vs

A mouth who might run his self off the club

QuackTastic
QuackTastic

Depends if we’re getting a Chris Jones or a Dee Ford with that first round pick. Need an instant playmaker, not a project. Otherwise I’d be OK with getting Ramsey as long as we can still afford to pay Hill and Jones. Would prefer to draft someone though.

Corners have some of the shallowest learning curves adapting to the NFL.

Otherwise I completely concur.

StramtoReid

I’m still waiting on word about Tyreek, for the sake of argument, I’m going to act like we give Tyreek a contract extension.

Maybe we keep Sammy next year, we still need to find our future # 2 and # 3 wr

KCChef
KCChef

For Arguments’ Sake :
ISU’s WR Hakeem Butler is there @ # 29 … Do you Take Him ? … Personally if Either Iowa TE’s were available, I’d think Long & Hard ,There …

Mattl
Mattl

I was playing around with mock drafts yesterday and once Fant was there and once Hockenson was. Both times I took them. Talk about having yet another 10-15 yard chain-mover and potential Kelce clone (or at least close to it); plus another safety valve for Mahomes.

Butler is so tough for me. I absolutely love him. I also know that he’s suffered from drops in his college career, followed by highlight-reel catches. I’d probably err on the side of “take him!”, but I can also envision a scenario where he’d frustrate us frequently. We may be able to get Kelvin Harmon in the 2nd – he’s absolutely a stud who has great hands, fights for the ball and is a killer in the blocking game; definitely lacks the game-breaking capability of Butler though.

QuackTastic
QuackTastic

TEs are such a crap shoot though. I remember Eric Ebron looking like a sure thing and being taken in like the top 10 and he didnt do shit until last year.

Mattl
Mattl

Fair point, although being in Detroit – it’s hard to tell if it was him or the dysfunctional team. My argument is that having a 2nd mismatch TE could be amazing. For me, it all depends on who else is there at #29.

There are probably ten players that I’ve said, “If they’re available at #29, we have to take him!” Fant/Hockenson, Butler, Simmons, Bush, Ferrell, Murphy, etc.

Severely Concussed
Severely Concussed

Exactly why I don’t want to trade up in the first. There will be somebody there that will immediately improve our team.

Now if we want to trade both our seconds to get another player that falls around our first pick I could live with that.

Imagine getting Ferrill and Murphy.

QuackTastic
QuackTastic

I remember everyone’s obsession with Goedert last year, did he turn out to be decent? I just sort of doubt a first year player is going to take away many snaps from Kelce, Hill, and Watkins. Could be good years down the road for us but I sort of want an impact player now.

Mattl
Mattl

To be fair, I’m less concerned with someone taking snaps from Kelce, Hill and Watkins, as much as I’d like to encourage mismatch options and not put so much wear & tear on our studs.

Agreed about wanting an impact player though. I’m hoping (assuming no trade-up) that we can get two impact guys out of our first three picks. I’d love to go three for three, but that’s a long-shot.

Thepriesttheycalledhim
Thepriesttheycalledhim

Agreed that it’s hard to judge Detroit draft picks. I feel like they haven’t hit on anyone of significance in the first round since Ansah. I could be wrong though.
If either Fant or Hockenson are there, I think it’s a no brainer. Kelce is 30 and we have had no truly viable backup, and while I fully admit to being an Iowa homer, I honestly believe both of these guys can be pro bowl caliber TE’s in a few years.

Severely Concussed
Severely Concussed

I would be perfectly content with a TE in the first. We haven’t tried to bring a worthwhile prospect in since Kelce.

On the other side I would be pretty pissed at a WR. We have already invested so much into our WR group it would be like adding a fifth slice of cheese on your burger. Enough is enough at some point.

Tarkus

I think the only way Watkins is back next year is if he gets a new deal. His cap hit is just way too high in that third year.

Chiefsfan115
Chiefsfan115

I’m hoping Pringle can take some of Robinson’s snaps. He looked faster in preseason.

KCChef
KCChef

Robinson’s $ 2 M contract is coming under scrutiny as it should as well …

Severely Concussed
Severely Concussed

Robinson’s contract is fine. It is not right to compare it to Tyreek’s. They are both still on rookie contracts. Hill was picked in the fifth rd in 2016. Robinson was drafted a round before him. Of course he is going to make more than Hill.

Compare Robinson’s contract to Jon Baldwin’s and we have a steal.

MasterChief
MasterChief

Plus I think Robinson is going to get even better. He’s shown a lot of ability to make very difficult catches in crucial situations and has shown a lot more play-making ability than Conley, who was solid but rarely made spectacular plays.

I had a dream last night that Dorian O’Daniel was the Chiefs’ leading tackler in 2019.
