2019 MLB preview and predictions: How the White Sox stack up against the Kansas City Royals

Several roster moves are still to come for the Royals as they finalize their squad for Opening Day. Over the last week several notable names, were sent to AAA Omaha. Jorge Bonifacio, Brett Phillips, and Bubba Starling have all been optioned to start the year. I would certainly expect to see any of these three in KC with the big league team at any point in the year. The outfield defense should be solid, but just do not expect much from them at the plate. Also of note is the fact Manager Ned Yost has opted to utilize Ian Kennedy and his monstrosity of a contract out of the bullpen. Cincinnati Red castoff Homer Bailey will also get a shot at the starting rotation this year, and barring some sort of miracle, I would pencil his starts in as days to finish up yard work, walk the dog, clean the gutters, heck even sleep. Don’t believe me, look here: https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/baileho02.shtml

Batters Up!

One of the greats is calling it quits. Ichiro has certainly been a beacon of light for many players from around the globe.
Guess they wanted to see if they could flip him at the deadline like they did last year.

Like I mentioned last week, if anyone has any suggestions on what they would like to see here, drop it in the comments and we will work it in. Seeing as how they will be playing games that count this week, I will try to give a detailed breakdown each Sunday of how the team is doing, and what transactions they are making. Anyone who follows baseball knows there is a lot of movement between K.C. and Omaha throughout the year, so I will be attempting to keep up on it, and let everyone know. Also if anyone is planning on attending any games, and want to share some pics let me know. I will be back in Missouri in June, and will be at the K when they play the Tigers either 6/10 or 6/11 and would love to plan some sort of a tailgate if anyone is interested.

So these are the arms the royals drafted last year. If a couple of these dudes can step up with Duffy, Kennedy, Junis, things might turn around quickly for the Royals. Schwindel looked good last week too….

Next year the Royals are projected to have somewhere around 75 mil to spend. Trending up! Let’s Go Royals!
