Thursday Night Open Thread

Well now, we have a Honey Badger, a running back, another “Star” linebacker, a defensive end and Darby is lost trying to figure out if Arrowhead is in Kansas or Missouri. Getting Darby under contract would make me feel a whole lot better about the holes in our defense heading into the draft.

Speaking of the draft, Arrowhead Guys will be hosting another mock draft battle tomorrow morning. So go brush up on your TDN Mock Draft Machine skills and post your draft in the comments to face off against the Guys next week. We also have a special Friday Night at the Movies planned, so make sure you check in.

By the time I post this, 3rd shift should be up. If not, I’ll be working on making it so.

But…but… It’s the first night I could get on a message board in months… and now you want me to move to a new thread?
Well poopsticks.

I might do a roster comparison from 2012 week 1 to now just to see how far things have come. Colquitt is the last man standing from the King Carl/Pioli era’s. The days of Fasano and The Bearded One at TE, Bowe and a bunch of nobodies at WR are over. Seemed like the only area’s in which both Carl and Pioli could draft was defense considering most of their offensive pickups were gone within two years of Reid coming into town.

Allen Bailey was around in 2012.
I know he’s a free agent now, but he isn’t gone yet.

Sickening. Muslim’s should be able to go to a mosque without worrying.

I keep asking but never finding the answer to…

Why is there enough religion in the world to encite war, but not enough to instill tolerance?

Its gone on since the beginning, it will continue until the end. Its a cycle we’re damned to repeat infinitely.

Texas Chief
Texas Chief

Because there are so many religions, none backed by actual hard evidence, all of them disagreeing with each other, and each one of them individually interpreting their own religious texts in hundreds to thousands of different ways/sects.

Every one of those individual sects teaches their followers that their way is the one true way…and they all misinform their followers about what every other religion believes/doesn’t believe .. to the point that none actually understands what anyone else actually believes.

People fear what they don’t understand, and there will always be crazy or lazy people that won’t bother to go find out what others actually believe. They prefer to just believe the scare mongering that their own religion tells them about everyone elses religion.

Tyrone
Tyrone

I am “anti-religion”, but there are so many religious people who get along without any problems, there has to be some underlying “hate” problem. I don’t even know if the gunman/gunmen in this case were religious themselves, or they were just filled with hate.

I just feel like going home and seeing my kids.

Texas Chief
Texas Chief

Crazy people with crazy ideas in their heads, and a general lack of tolerances for anyone that doesn’t agree with them.

We could be talking about religions, politics, sexual preferences, or the SJW crowds… It’s all the same shit. It’s extremest people that just can’t deal with living in a world where everyone doesn’t think like they do. Some of those folks go look for a “safe space”, some seek out a political/social “echo chamber” where they never even bother to hear what someone that doesn’t agree with them thinks (and why)…. and some are just flat out psychopaths that resort to violence.

BleedingRedAndGold

Yikes. Can’t understand people who think that because they believe Muslim=terrorist=bad, that being them=terrorist=good. That’s so wrong that it’s not even wrong. Of course, that doesn’t make me much better, because it makes me wish that I was the Lifeguard of the gene pool.

ForeverRanger91
ForeverRanger91

If people actually read the Quran, they would understand that those terrorists who like to bomb shit aren’t true Muslims. Look no further than when they bombed a mosque during Ramadan. Rather than doing research and trying to understand things they assume shit.

Tony Sommer

Does anybody know about the Amanda Knox case? I usually don’t care to follow these things, but a Youtube channel I’m subbed to covered it and did a really piss poor job, then I watched another video that suggested she was innocent but then all the comments said she was guilty.

So is there some hard evidence to believe she’s guilty, or is she actually innocent?

Tyrone
Tyrone

Couldn’t say either way. I watched the netflix doco on her a while ago. I seem to remember her coming off as pretty creepy.

Tyrone

But she is “actually innocent” in as much that she was acquitted.

I will admit that I at least understand the dying trend from 2016-2018 of buying up records and listening to the music that way it was intended, without all the computer corrected “high fidelity” and balancing.

But then again, so many of those records that were selling in mainstream stores (like best buy etc) were made using the modern day studio mixes of the original tracks…..so it was the same sound with some added record hiss heh.

Fire_FG_the_moron

Im not sure, the medical staff at 1 Arrowhead Drive have been criticized heavily for 3 years now. He’s seeking an outside opinion?

BleedingRedAndGold

They have been criticized by fans heavily, that’s true, but the fans’ criticism was often inaccurate, unrealistic, and/or unfair.

I swear, if I hear one more complaint about how they “should have made Berry get the surgery, but they didn’t )so they suck), I don’t know what I would do. Because that oft-made complaint of the med team is all three.

Nobody here is qualified to evaluate the competence of the medical staff, they’re just pissed because that staff followed proper medical protocols rather that acting on the whims of fans. Medical care is not a democracy.

Now if a player starts speaking up about them, I might listen, or a former member of that staff, but armchair medical specialists who know essentially nothing about what’s going on? Nah. I remember how Borgmann got savaged by fans because he insisted on following proper medical standards instead of dishing juicy dirt and inside secrets, the way they wanted.

Borgmann’s a medical professional with a good track record and a business of his own, but fans demanded he wreck all that because they wanted to know. Bah. That sort of behavior is barbaric.

BleedingRedAndGold

‘Most everyone knows some of the primary multi-function items in a proper Redneck toolkit: Duck tape, super glue, WD40, but I thought I’d share another favorite of mine: Clear nail polish. I got started with it initially because I tend to wear the letters off keyboards pretty quickly, and clear nail polish fit the bill for protecting them. Over the years, however, I’ve learned that it’s good for a number of different things, even an adhesive of sorts.

My current use is an attempt to keep the pin for the lid of my Zippo from falling out. Initially I was thinking superglue, but that’s got a tendency to get into places you don’t want it, but the polish is more viscous than that. We’ll see how it works out, but if not, all it cost me was a toothpick and a tiny amount of the stuff. Worst case, I learn that it won’t work for that sort of thing, best case, it’s fixed and I’ll add the repair to the list of things I can do with it.

Tony Sommer

That’s clever, never thought to use that to protect stuff.
